Of all the Grand Marshal melee weapons, this one has the fastest speed. The DPS is .1 lower than he rest of the one-hand Grand Marshal weapons (with the exception of the dagger), but classes using this with a talent like Flurry (increases haste for a short time when you crit) would wind up having Flurry active more often, which means more DPS overall.
As a warrior, I plan to dual-wield the Longsword in main-hand and Swiftblade in the off-hand.
At first I was planning on buying a Two-Hand weapon, but then I realized the Swiftblade is also a great tanking weapon with its high damage and fast attack speed. While the two-handed weapon is only for DPS, the one-hand Swiftblade has multiple uses.
This weapon also makes a great offhand for a rogue as well. I currently have the Claw of the Black Drake mainhand and since getting into Naxxrammus as well as killing Sapphiron is kind of far off, this will be a great weapon to use to level. While the ap bonus is a bit lower than Offhand Warblade of the Hakkari, the damage per second more than makes up for it. I would advise putting a +15 agility enchant on this weapon. In essence, with the +15 agility enchant, you're adding an additional 0.5% to crit, which can add up over time. This is a great offhand for any sword or fist rogue.
Also, this only takes 20 marks of honor from Arathi Basin.
This is a great weapon for rogues and warriors. It will be worth having throughout all endgame content that the game currently offers. It will also be useful for leveling once the expansion releases.
Getting this along with the mainhand fist weapon ( https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=18843https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=18843 ) to level up my rogue in Outland. Neither have any replacement for quite some time, and using this sword not only lets me attack fast enough to reap combat potency with the fast attack speed, but get more sword specialization procs that let me get extra hits with the +crit fist in a build like https://vanillawowdb.com/?talent=f0eboxZMIV0rVzEMhothttps://vanillawowdb.com/?talent=f0eboxZMIV0rVzEMhot , since all extra hits are done with the mainhand regardless of which weapon actually procced. I forget where, but someone also said if you have a mainhand fist, the offhand gets 5% crit from fist specialization even if it isn't a fist weapon. Icing on the cake :D
Edit: Oh yeah I'm also human, so I get the +5 expertise rating. Only need to equip one sword to get the +5, and equipping two doesn't give 10 , so more cake.
It seems to me that is would make more sense to Have two fast weapons like duel swiftblades, then two have a swiftblade and a longsword. Can someone explain why a longsword is a better mainhand weapon for a combat specced rougue?
