Is there anything of interest about this guy?

Well you will notice where he is, right where the road to Quel'Thalas should be. And Quel'Thalas will be available... with the Add-On! (Adon, get it?)

It is easy to get there without any hacks. Just swim east from from Tirisfal Glades, then you'll get there in like 3 min.

I believe he warns low levels who have just come out of the Ghostlands about venturing into a level 55+ zone.

Might be another NPC though.

I thought the same, but I wasn't able to interact with him on either faction.

Although I vaguely recall him saying something, perhaps it was removed.

today i tried to reach Quel'thalas, first with a flying mount. Invicible wall appears and you certainly can't reach the place like that. i tried e and w plaguelands both. then i tried to swim there from tirisfal glades, can't do it :s
But because i'm a pain in the ass, i also tried to swim there from the hinterlands :D

well, i only reached e-plaguelands and the wall appeared again. After cata it is fixed, that is quite sad i say. :/

Adon also escaped the fate of the folks living at the lodge ... he did not fall to mana addiction.

Hm, does anyone know what armor he is wearing? I'm a roleplayer and I'm pretty sure my elf would look nice in this...

I'm surprised no one has wondered if he can indeed perform the RISING JAGUAR.

Quote from WoWWiki:<div class=""quote"">Adon is a level 60 high elf NPC who is located by the entrance to Quel'Thalas in the northmost part of the Eastern Plaguelands.

He doesn't fulfill any function and was only meant to be a sign that Quel'Thalas would be an add-on (synonym for expansion) later found to be The Burning Crusade.I was always somewhat mystified by this guy myself and im kinda shocked that in all of my years of playing WoW that I've never noticed that this guy is actually a High Elf and NOT a Blood Elf lol.

As for all the talk about the closed/unfinished placeholder zone north of the plaguelands, A.K.A Quel'Thals. I can confirm that it is still accessible as of current patch, but you'll need a mage with flying mount.

What you do is fly to any point north of Trisfal Glades or the Plaguelands where there is a barrier. Find a spot where you can fall without dying (I reccomend the mountain range just beyond Scarlet Monastery), an while in the air use the blink spell to pass through the barrier. At some points there may be more than one invisible barrier so you may have to repeat this a few times.

Having passed through the barrier you can visit the zone known in game as ""Quel'Thalas"" From there you can visit some elven ruins along the coast, south of that will be an ""uninstanced"" version of Stratholme. You can fly around in this area, but be careful because the game is very glitchy around here and it's easy to get stuck. West of Stratholme is what appears to be an unfinished version of Ghostlands, The path that leads to the plaguelands is present along with some debris littered along the side. From there you can fly southwest and visit the mountain range between Ghostlands and Eastern Plaguelands, but there is really nothing to see there.

I'm not really sure what that zone with the elven ruins was or is supposed to be. I'm somewhat intrigued as to why it's still there 7 years after WoW launched. It seems that Blizzard has done something with every other closed zone in the game by either adding content or removing it entirely so it would seem logical to assume that Blizzard has plans for it.

I would imagine that Blizz will soon fix the said method of passing through the invisible barrier so enjoy it while you can ;)
