Theres tons of places to find good strats on this boss, http://www.wowwiki.com www.wowwiki.com  has some great info.
FYI, even if you weren't in the zone or even in the party you can still get the loot off of Domo's chest. My guild started giving alts that were at the zone entrance, items from the chest, its a great way to get good gear from not raiding.

Here is the link to Cache of the Firelord that you loot after Domo has surrendered. https://vanillawowdb.com/?object=179703 https://vanillawowdb.com/?object=179703

The strategy for this boss is not very complicated. You can crowd control up to four of the eight adds, and once you have killed them all, Majordomo will ""surrender"" to you, allowing you to loot the Cache of the Firelord.

At current only healers can be polymorphed. As soon as there are only 4 mobs (in addition to Domo) left, they break polymorph and become immune to it.

Make sure you don't have any AoE spells that break crowd control going on, especially while mobs CAN be polymorphed.

Be cautious of AoE weapon procs. Earthstriker and Thunderfury are both ok with CC.

The loot in the cache doesn't have to be given to people on the raid. Members not present for the kill, members not in the raid, and members that were not on that ID (assuming they don't have an MC ID already) can zone in and loot out of the chest.

The Pull

Drink all fire protection, shadow protection, and magic resistance potions before the pull. A DS'd paladin will run into the center area to begin the fight. Our main concern early in the fight is to move Domo's adds away from the center and each other. Each Elite will be tanked by one warrior to a separate part of Domo's platform.

Elites 1 and 2 are tanked near the edge of the platform to the left.

Elites 3 and 4 are tanked near the wall of the platform to the right.

All four Priests (P) will be sheeped by four assigned mages in the part of the platform shown in the pictures above. The mages assigned to sheep will ONLY be managing their sheep until it is broken by a warrior and killed by the raid. As a mage, do not deselect your priest until it is dead. Keep reapplying polymorph, especially when you see the warning that the shields are about to come up, as the magic shield will reflect the polymorph back onto the caster. Try to keep your Priest sheeped in the area shown, so that you do not go out of range of the healers.

The healers will stand on the near side of the pit, in the area shown in the pictures above. They should be able to heal everyone in the raid from here. Healers will be assigned to certain tanks before the fight.

Majordomo will be tanked where he stands, on the other side of the pit in the center of the platform, in range of the healers.

The Fight

One warrior will be assigned as the sheep breaker. The rest of the raid (rogues, warlocks, hunters, paladins, spare warriors, spare mages) will follow him around and kill the targets he selects. If you are EVER in doubt of what to attack, assist this warrior.

The warrior's first target will be Elite 4, just to the right of the raid. The warrior will establish aggro, then the raid will kill it. Be careful not to use physical attacks when the physical shield is up, as all damage will be reflected back onto you. Do not use magic attacks when the magic shield is up.

The warrior's second target will be one of the sheeped Priests. He will break the sheep, establish aggro, then the raid will kill it, making sure to interrupt any attempt the Priest makes to heal himself. The warrior will then move onto another sheep and do the same thing until all the sheeped Priests are dead. (sidenote: the last priest will break sheep by itself, since they become immune to crowd control effects once four of Domo's eight adds are down)

After the priests are dead, the warrior will move on to the remaining three elites. The raid kills these, still keeping in mind the type of damage shield on each one. Once the final Elite is dead, Majordomo will submit to the raid and give up his loot.

To summarize the targeting order, we will kill the adds like this:
* 1 Elite
* 4 Sheeped Healers
* 3 Remaining Elites

By Muatolin on 05/11/2006 (Patch 1.12.0)
Final Notes

* Never use area effect spells (like Consecration, Cone of Cold, Rain of Fire, etc.) in this fight, as they will break the sheeped priests and wipe the raid.
* Warlocks should cast Curse of Shadows on all of the Priests at the beginning of the fight, so the mages can keep them sheeped more easily.
* Warriors have to notice when the purple shield is up, and stop their attacks when they see it. Otherwise, all damage is reflected back onto them.
* Mages need to pay attention to when Domo is about to cast his shield on his adds, and resheep their Priest before the shields go up.
* Everyone else needs to assist the warrior breaking the sheeps and pay attention to his target.
* Out of combat rezzing is very difficult in this fight, so do not expect a rez. When you've taken a big hit or your health is getting low, back out of combat and use bandages and potions to keep yourself alive.
* When one elite is left, the elite and Majordomo will go in supreme mode.&nbps; Healers must spam heals to keep the two remaining tanks alive while we kill that last elite.

turn this fight into phases and it's easy, you need 5 tanks, and 2 hunters
Phase 1: Sheep all 4 priests, kill 2 elites ...............................(tanks on 4 elites) 4 priests 4 elites at start of phase
Phase 2: get 2 elites down to 20% or so ...............................(tanks on 2 elites) 4 priests 2 elites at start of phase
Phase 3: kill 2 priests, other priests will become unsheepable (tanks on 2 elites) 4 priests 2 weakened elites at start of phase
Phase 4: kill weakened elites ...............................................(tanks on 4 elites) 2 priests 2 weakened elites at start of phase
Phase 5: kill last 2 priests ....................................................(tanks on 4 elites) 2 priests at start of phase

In this way, you make sure once the priests can't be sheeped, everyone goes down quick, and if the last add alive is an elite, he goes supreme and hurts, so this makes sure it's a priest alive at the end.

For Majordomo himself, have a decent tank on him, and use 2 hunters to keep pulling him back, as he likes to drop threat and wander through the raid.

Things to remember: damage/magic shield - CTRaid is a must, will show when the shields come up and when they drop (note, damage shield does not apply to ranged damage), no AoE (any worthwhile player knows this when CC is being used)

If attempting to do Majordomo Executus with only a few people, here are some tips:
- One high level tank can easily handle Majordomo and all 8 adds while the DPS focus on killing them one at a time.
- If you get teleported to the embers, get out of them.
- Make sure casters watch out for the spell reflect shield, but the damage shield is completely ignorable.
- The healers tend to not heal very often, but they should still be killed first just in case.
- Also, in the 3.0.8 patch, the Quintessence requirement to summon Majordomo Executus is being removed.

Solo'd this encounter tonight as a ret pally. I ended up using Bubble & Lay On Hands during two sticky situations, but once you get the pattern down it's pretty simple.

Rule 1: Use Fire Resistance Aura - their blastwave will own you if you don't.
Rule 2: Keep Sacred Shield up at all times
Rule 3: Know when your FoL has become instant cast, and USE IT.
Rule 4: Use Judgement of Light
Rule 5: Use Seal of Wisdom

Use Divine Storm whenever it is off cooldown. This will restore quite a bit of mana and a substantial amount of health. Make sure to also use Judgement of Light whenever it is off cooldown but only when you have enough time to heal afterwards. If it looks sticky, heal first.

You will be ported into the fire pit very frequently but this can work to your advantage. When this happens, exit the fire pit in the direction opposite from where Majordomo and his cronies are. Immediately start casting Holy Light. Make it a habit of doing this each time you get ported. A good way to get the spell off without getting hit while casting is to gradually back the mobs up away from the fire pit so when you get ported you have plenty of time to cast while they run to catch up to you. Remember to keep Sacred Shield up whenever it falls off, and cast FoL whenever it becomes instant.

Target the healers first. I don't think they managed to get any heals off throughout the fight, but there was so much going on I wasn't paying attention to their health as much as mine. Even if they did get a heal off, it only heals them for about 13k, so it doesn't make much of a difference - they drop very fast at only 90something thousand health. Don't let your guard down after you kill each add - the others seem to buff slightly each time you kill one so the damage stays somewhat consistant throughout the fight. Once you are down to just Majordomo and one Elite, the elite will be healed to full health. Just keep your sacred shield up and cast FoL as needed.

Good luck!

Edit: I am using Naxx 25 gear for my MC fights.

Soloed it as a lvl 80 affliction warlock.

This is actually very easy to solo for a lock, because the Teleport ability plays right into your hands. =)

What I dwowhead:1,id: dotted up one add and started running down the ramp. While you're running you can dot a few more, as they will all run after you. After a while you will get teleported back up. While they are all climbing back up dot a few more and start running down again. Just repeat until all of them are dead. Easy.

Easily doable as a frostmage.

This is all about killing the adds asap and don't waste ANY time or effort on the boss.

What i dwowhead:1,id:
Let your elemental attack the boss (just with Attack, or freeze). The boss will ofcourse aggro your pet, don't worry, the boss is a weakling - he doesn't hurt your elly!

As soon as the boss and flamewalkers attack the elemental, start nuking em, most likely you'll get a few adds on you, so pop Mirror images for minimal pushback damage.

TimeWarp is also nice here, and since moving to Ragnaros will take some time anyway, it's not a waste. You should be able to do rediculous crits with your Ice Lance and Deep Freeze, the add's won't be any problem, just take 'em down any order you like.

Once they are all down except one start using Shoot (yes, that's right, use your wand). It's way more fun to see him die slowly. (Tho you should interrupt his heals, if it's a healer).

Alternatively; you can just kill the last one aswell and watch the roleplay.

I noticed in late January 2011 that the Majordomo Executus mobs (Flamewaker Healer & Flamewaker Elite) no longer give reputation with Hydraxian Waterlords as they should. I am not sure if this problem was caused with Cataclysm or some following patch or hotfix.

I made a ticket about this to Blizzard and a GM told me that this bug had not been reported before and that they will look into it. I made a second ticket after some time asking for an update and they said the bug report had been forwarded to the appropriate department to fix it.

At the moment, it is mid-March and both mob types are still bugged, which means that currently this fight does not give any reputation at all but you still have to do it in order to proceed to Ragnaros.

Good thing I went for the adds first on this guy as I didn't know he'd not die. Made a mistake earlier in the raid when it came to those blasted regenerating core hounds so eventually just went for the bosses... As a note, at least for my run, you have to kill all the other bosses to have Executus and his cronies appear. Went in as an 83 Fury Warrior with mostly WoTLK gear and no fire resist at all.

Anyway, targeted the healers first. Didn't really have a chance to notice I was standing in the fire too much but did move, most of the time at least. Since all the adds have ~90-100K health or so, they're not terribly hard to kill. Just kept focus on whatever one I was fighting and kept turning 180s as I got ported around to keep fighting. Once a few went down it became much easier of course.

Was bugged today. I killed the adds very fast (within a few seconds I guess), the chest popped and could be looted, but the boss didnt go back to green/friendly. I couldn't kill him, as he continued popping back to 100% health every few seconds. When i tried to run away he followed me and teleported me back to the fire. The way I escaped was running as far away as I could with him following me, and next time he teleported me back to the fire I had time to hearthstone out before the boss got back to the fire place. Wiping might be easier, but honestly, who wanna wipe on this boss at lvl 85 :)

When I re-entered the instance Majordomo had turned friendly and was standing in Ragnaros' lair ready to summon him.

HOW TO: Summon him
You must first kill ALL other bosses (excluding ragnaros) in the Molten Core. After you kill them all, he will /yell something such as ""I am unleashed!"". When you get him down to a certain amount of health, he will, again, say something along the lines of ""I surrender!"". When you talk to him, you will be able to tell him to summon ragnaros. He will then teleport away; go to Ragnaros' lair and Executus will be waiting for you there. Talk to him once more, and he will begin summoning Ragnaros.

It is still possible for a smaller (and nostalgic) group to wipe on him...if all of them recall WC Radio, and someone starts channeling Slanik: ""Is that a naga? ...Naga. Naga? Naga! Naga? Naga! Naga. Naga! NAGA!""

If your group all starts laughing like giant idiots such that they can't focus in the slightest? Yeah, you can wipe. Otherwise, he's not terribly difficult. :)

Just a quick word as I couldn't see this mentioned elsewhere:

If by some fluke you pull one of the Lava Annihilators as it patrols near the Flamewalkers and it pulls them but not Executus then you will need to either reset the fight or try and engage Executus to be able to complete the instance.

If (like me) you don't notice and just kill the adds, Executus becomes bugged as you can't attack him but he also won't create the loot chest or go to summon Ragnaros.

All you need to do is leave the instance for the normal reset period (approx 15 mins) and then come back in - if you zone in and he does the ""runes of warding"" shout then you know it has reset and you can kill him. I did wait inside for a while after killing them without them respawning.

DO NOT AOE DOWN ADDS QUICKLY.

Killing the adds too fast will bug him to a point where he heals all damage taken, and any attempt to run away and reset will be met with a teleport to the middle of that lava rock in the middle of his bluff.

I was forced to unequip my weapon and stand in the lava rock and wait around two minutes to die (at which point he becomes friendly upon death as he does when defeated under normal circumstances).
