Turns into Artorius the Doombringer (?) after spoken with. Takes about 15 seconds, so you have some time to run away from him to begin kiting. May only be spoken with if the hunter is on the Lok'delar quest (https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=7636 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=7636 ).

Artorius the Doombringer, a level 60 elite doomguard disguised as a Tauren, is located in Winterspring. He is one of four vile agents of the Burning Legion which Vartrus the Ancient, a tree spirit from Irontree Woods in Felwood, wishes to see destroyed. Only a skilled hunter is able to find the demons in their disguises and defeat them.

Artorius is part of the hunter epic quest to obtain Rhok'delar and Lok'delar. As with all of the demons, he must be killed by the hunter alone: no heals, pets, mid-fight buffs, etc. Each demon requires the hunter to find a weakness to a hunter skill. Artorius' specific weakness is to the poison of a hunter's Serpent Sting. When affected by the sting, he gains a debuff called Entropic Sting, doing massive amounts of damage. The key to this fight is to stay out of range of his demonic magic, which is able to mutate players into a demon, simultaneously dealing large amounts of damage to the hunter.

He is immune to Fear, and Enslave Demon.
I tried to enslave him, and I lost my pet in the process.

Any attack can aggro him I frost shocked him on my shammy

It was a cool night in Winterspring. Cool even for the standards of Winterspring. I was hunting the demon lord I was ordered to by the great Lord of the Forests.

I looked around. A yeti was fighting a bear somewhere far, on the top of a mountain. A furbolg shouted something.

Then I saw him. Not even my elven ears heard him. Not even Friel, my nightsaber, smelled him. I just saw him.

I glanced at the tauren in a traveling costume in the front of me. He looked back at me, smiling. I knew it was him, I knew it. And I told him that I knew.

He enraged. He morphed into a creature of terrible evil, one which, sadly, I knew to well.

And the duel begun, a duel whose result may decide the fate of Winterspring... or of the world...

Met him randomly in winterspring and noticed he was neutral to me - which i found rather weird, me being Alliance and all. As i got a closer look at his tooltip i noticed he wasn't even a tauren - He was classified as a demon!
Now as the humble and kind paladin that i am i knew i had to save this poor tauren from his manifestation, so i did what every other kind person would do - Preformed an exorcism on him.
Thing is, i don't think his inner demons were very pleased with my efforts to save this poor tauren, and with them controlling his every move there wasn't much the tauren could do, appart from attacking me. Poor guy went down with his inner demons - brave soul he had.

Just a thought..
Wouldn't a warlock be able to banish/enslave this guy?
Would be wicked awesome running around with a tauren as your pet ^^

Here's a bit of a tale for you. I was running around doing quests on my level 63 deathknight. Why you ask? Well to get that Winterspring Frostsaber of course! So I notice this tauren walking in the middle of nowhere. I saw that he was neutral and thought he might have something to do with the druids. I run up to him and talk to him. He said something about walking with him, so I decided I would, thinking he would actually lead me somewhere. As I was walking along side him, I spotted a chimera. I had a quest that needed meat from a chimera, so I walked along side the tauren a bit more, and started attacking the chimera. I saw the tauren punching, so I thought,"" Oh good! I'm getting some help."" So I finsh off the chimera, and find the tauren still punching. I thought,"" What could he possibly be attacking?"" I start to notice my health decreasing and think,"" Oh no! He must be part of some druid thing for witnessing me attack an animal and is attacking me for it!"" Then I scroll over him and realize he's classified as a demon! a level 60 elite I might add. So I slowly ran away. Quite a long story, but a funny one ;)

quick note, the snakes from a Snake Trap count as help so he despawns when you use it...tried it and got @#$%ed

If you speak to him while not on the quest, he says:
