These spawn from the nerubian's corpses during the Aunb'Rekhan encounter. They should just be AoE'd down.

By These guys are tameable, but have a slightly different look than the other beetles in the game. Their base model and colour looks the same but:
(1) they stay a bit smaller and
(2) they have a streaky trail effect when they run
Originally they were really tiny, but were scaled up a bit in 4.1.
These effects persist after death and log-out and aren't due to any buff effect.
The quirks are linked to the model, which is different number from most scarabs despite being superficially identical.

By This pet has four features that make it unique: it is smaller than other beetles (though bigger than it once was), it leaves a black trail behind it when it walks, its Harden Carapace creates a larger graphic than that other beetles, and its movement animation is bugged, giving it a gliding appearance.
To solo tame one of these, you'll need be level 85 and have around 359 ilvl or more. First, grab a tenacity pet. I used one of the bears below Naxxramas as a throwaway pet. Engage Anub'Rekhan and start killing him until a Nerubian add is spawned. Misdirect to your pet and burn the adds down. When these little beetles are spawned, abandon or dismiss your current pet, use Deterrence, and cast Tame Beast. You should be able to finish the tame before Anub kills you, provided he doesn't decide to impale you as you are taming.
