A small tip for you trying to find these, make a macro and use it to target these little buggers.

/Target ""name of critter""

And but in on of your bars and run around and spam it. It will help alot, it did for me :)

Sadly, it is hard to resist the urge to snipe one of these critters..... probably one of the many reasons it can be skinned.

Still, Blizzard did a good job on them. /love :)

If you make a macro to target it (a wise plan), be sure to spell ""prairie"" correctly. I spelled prairie wrong (there are TWO i's!) and ran the length and breadth of the Barrens with no luck. Double-checked my macro, fixed the spelling, and found the silly little thing not 10 seconds later.

Spelling > me

If you don't want to spam a macro, you could *also* turn on nameplates for units with (unless you've changed this) v. Makes the lil' ones harder to miss.

A way to find these without macro is to simpy toggle the display of critter/companion names, under the Names Tab of the Interface Panel, in the Game Menu.

As of 4.0.3a, they appear to have gone commando on the border of Mulgore and Stonetalon (on a small plateau at the top of the pass).

Occasionally the occupants (prairie dogs, mice and rabbits) of this little area will enlarge and don weapons/armor. Submitting a screenshot of the one little guy with a combat helmet and a knife.

If you havent seen them, the rodent wars in the northwest corner of Mulgore are worth the trip. Perhaps the most outlandish easter egg yet, the Prairie Dogs, Rabbits, and Mice in the area periodically grow larger than Gnomes, take up weapons and kill their rivals.

The Prairie Dogs don helmets and daggers. The Rabbits brandish battle axes, and the Mice dual-wield shotguns. If you get there and dont see anything, be patient. You'll soon be rewarded!

Possibly a Princess Bride R.O.U.S. (Rodents Of unusual Size) reference?

HEY EVERYBODY story time, I was down at the starter area for Taurens... I was at the body of water near the Quillboar.. I dived into the water, and at the middle of the water at the bottom, I found a single https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=2620"">(NPC #2620) .... I killed it and it reacted normally, not even line of sight problems. I tried to use /WL Collect, then checked WoWhead, didn't mark the location. :( Either way check somewhere round the lake and see if you can find one.... wonder if somebody used Critter Bites and lured them down there. :O
