The Coastal Menace

Bring a scale of Old Murk-Eye to Captain Grayson at the Westfall Lighthouse.
Scale of Old Murk-Eye

Description

When my life was ended upon the rocks, I had no clue what the afterlife held for me. The Lighthouse was black that night because Old Murk-Eye had scared the keeper's family off. They returned and re-lit the flame but Old Murk-Eye coerced the weaker minded murlocs to raid the Lighthouse with him once again. The second time the family was not so lucky and before my eyes they perished helplessly.

Slay Old Murk-Eye if you see him along the shore and bring me one of his scales and I shall reward you.

Reward

You can choose one of these awards:
Grayson's Torch
Buckler of the Seas
Torchlight Wand

Progress

Have you laid waste to the menace known as Old Murk-Eye yet? He has been spotted roaming the coastline of Westfall.

Return to me when the foul beast is dead.

Completion

So the foul heathen, Murk-Eye is dead. Well done, <name>. By your hands one life was laid to rest but perhaps many more were saved. The Great Sea, wrought with danger as it is, shall be a wee bit safer this night thanks to your heroics.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 155 experience (9 30 at max. level)

Murk-Eye is usually standing in the water near camps. Run up and down the coast, he's kinda hard and kinda easy to find.

For those not being able to decide between the splendid-lookin shield and the torch, there is another shield looking exactly the same available in Desolace. https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=16788 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=16788

Found him walking, straight north from the lighthouse, to the coast, at 33, 81.

Solo'd at 15 mage, 5 in imp frost, had to expend all my mana and kite him a tad, but hey, he's soloable.

He can be found around the shore, so start looking for him by going Southeast of the lighthouse and going through the beach you might eventually find it. He is not very hard to kill if you get him without adds.

When you're a caster around level 17, it's worth taking this quest to get an early Wand that will last for quite some time. You can find him in less than a minute, and the fight isn't really tricky.

This quest is commonly paired with the ""Coast Isn't Clear"" quest in which you have to kill 14 Murlocs in total. Keep in mind that in the course of killing 14 Murlocs, you'll probably wind up killing Murk Eye 3-4 times, as he respawns very quickly and all the Murlocs in the area are in a rather small area centered around where he respawns.
