Bring Fragments of Rok'Alim to Dorn Plainstalker in Thousand Needles.
Fragments of Rok'Alim

Description

During the time of the Old Gods, elementals inhabited much of this world. They worshipped the Old Gods, and the Gods, through their power, kept the elementals bound to this world. When the Old Gods were banished, the elementals faded from our world and now only return at the bidding of powerful mages.

There are exceptions though. Some elementals were powerful enough to remain here on their own. One such elemental is Rok'Alim.

To test your strength, find Rok'Alim in Thousand Needles and slay him.

Progress

Rok'Alim is also called the Pounder by the centaur tribes in Thousand Needles because of the thundering his fists make as he pummels the creatures brave, or stupid, enough to stand in his path.

Completion

The Test of Strength is done. You have shown strength and bravery, and you are now prepared for the final test before these rites are completed.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 305 experience (18 30 at max. level)
  • 350 Reputation with Thunder Bluff

I first saw him at location ""1"" but then when i had the quest i found him down at the ""3"" location... Easy to kill with group... Lucky a healer wandered by and helped us out... You should be able to see him from the main road down at the ""3"" location.

As of 2.3 this is easily soloable, he is no longer Elite & the Quest is no longer Group.

When my druid was feral, before 2.3, I managed to solo this around 32. Not too bad of a fight. It'll be even easier now, of course.

Why do I get the idea that Rok'Alim is a subtle reference to Muhammad Ali? Strong, hit hard, etc. Silly me.

Make the macro /target Rok'Alim, drag it to your bar and hit it repeatedly.

I found him at 13.8, 26.7. I wound up aggroing a boulderkin and a couger, but healing a couple of times during the fight, drop a Moonfire on him, and use Cat form and they all go down pretty quick. Steelsnap I found in the same general area.

I went up and down the coordinates listed above and spent 45 minutes traveling back and forth till he appeared. He must have a VERY slow respawn rate, so if you don't see him around on your first pass, expect to wait around awhile.

Rok'Alim is sometimes panstaking to find because he partols a good part of Thousand Needles.
This part of the quest is easier if you have a player with a mount to locate him faster.
