Description

You say Elling sent you here? Well then, the hospitality I expressed is now tenfold. Anything you need, just ask. I will do my best to aid you.

Hmm, Slim, you say? Not sure the name sounds familiar, but I'll keep my eyes out for him.

Don't look now, <name>, but the gentleman over by the exit is looking over here. He's listening to our conversation a little too intently if you catch my meaning? If I were you, I'd do what you can to subdue him before he makes a break for the door.

Caught him, huh? Good for you. I'm surprised that was Slim.

I'll be honest, I never thought I'd miss the excitement of some of the more devious underground activities. I guess old habits die hard. Don't mention that to Elling--he'd probably try and get me to come back to Stormwind if he heard I missed the action.

I'm glad I could at least be of a little service to you while you were in Menethil. If you need anything else, just ask.

This quest chain doesn't really end here when you defeat Tapoke Jahn he gives you a quest which leads to the other half of the quest chain. He is quite hard and comes with a bodyguard if your lucky there will be some high levels around who will help you when they see you fighting them. He turns friendly when he's defeated and then returns to the inn.

If a Mage opens with a sheep, he won't summon his guard.

I soloed him with only a little difficulty at lvl 29.

As of the 9th of march 2007 i did this on my 29 warrior very hard, got help from another, just get him to 20'ish % and he surender.

Also i notes that he didnt had a bodyguard as he use to in the ""old"" days,.. maybe cause i charge the sec he turned hostile, dunno... GL ;]

I did it as a 28 Hunter. Before I started, I placed an ice trap near the mailbox outside the inn. I then went in and started the event. He walked outside and became attackable right before he walked over the trap. (I was lucky it didn't resist.) Once he was frozen, I gave myself some space, turned on Cheetah, and sent in my pet. Growl was resisted alot but I kept firing until I got aggro, at which point I started kiting him around the keep. Easy when you know what's going to happen.

Did it with a 29 lock. Succubus' seduce works the same as all the other stuns and he didn't spawn his guard. Keep fears and dots on him and he isn't too bad.

did this as a 29 druid, just enrage before he becomes attackable and open up with a bash, no adds summoned, insect swarmed/moonfired him to death while healing with rejuv since he seemed to have less resistance to my dots than actual casts (wrath/starfire)

Solo'd in one try as a lvl 28 Rogue.

Just hit him once his name turn yellow. Vanish, then cheapshot once his bodyguard disappears. His Bodyguard won't come back, allowing you to fight him 1 on 1.

I'll admit, I'm also an Herbalist, so Lifeblood helped a lot.

dude his friend comes back after... i tried shadowmelding and the bodyguard went away but came back straight after i hit him again =.=

Opened with a stun but the bodyguard spawned anyway. He leaves when Tapoke Jahn surrenders so if you have cooldowns, just focus onTapoke.

Every time i did this quest i thought it was odd that the guy doesn't just run off when i let him leave to go get his notes... my character is pretty dumb just to wait in the inn for him to return he could be half way to hillsbrad by now!
