After completion of the previous quest part, she usually comes to thank you for subduing Hendel, but will quickly despawn and reappear back in the upper level of her tower. On the two times I've done this quest she usually does it right before I can click complete on the quest fo finish it, which is a pain.

So be quick, click on complete and you won't have to run all the way back into Theramore Isle.

yeah i made a mistake and abandoned it and both the archmage and hendel disappeared.... what do i do ?

The other thing to think about is that when you fight the Dwarf in SW and Private Hendel, it'll flag you as PvP if you are on a PvE server.

Keep that in mind. The first time, you're in SW so its probably not an issue; the second you are in Dustwallow so depending on where you go from there it could be an issue.

When i was doing this quest i was slightly disapointed that this was the end of the chain as no resolution was really reached with the story line.

Later the same day i started a totally unrelated quest chain that started with https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=11136 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=11136 that was all about the defias in Dustwallow Marsh salvaging a ship. Eventually this quest reveals that the ship was transporting an important prisoner and tells you where the prisoner is located (and shows you via a griffon fly-by), while this makes no direct mention to the king, it is apparant that the important prisoner that you track down is in fact the king, just takes the player to put 2 and 2 together.

No real purpose of this comment to be honest, just very interesting for those of you that (like me) enjoy reading the quests and following the lore.

I went to kill the dwarf in SW and some1 was there before me doing the same quest chain, so I help kill him (not partied) and click on the question mark and accept that he's been killed... but then an exclamation mark appears as if I hadn't just killed him!

On clicking the question mark it makes all the indications that I now have to kill him except he stays green, so I stand there like a gnumpty.

I decided to abandon the quest and go back to the guy in the cheesemakers to redo the part I just started, except now the cheese guy doesn't give me the quest, and I'm wondering what I have to do to restart the quest chain again?
