Oh, I think I might have dropped too much acid onto the shield. Let me just rub a little...

Hm, kind of hard to read, but it looks like the name Mosarn. Never heard of him. Maybe Krog knows. Krog knows many people.

Mosarn? Sounds familiar... I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it'll come to me later.

It probably isn't important. A shield can come from anywhere and not mean anything...

I remember a 'Mosarn' npc in Thunder Bluff, but I don't know if he has any relation to this questline.

This is the end of this questline, but at the Inn you can start 2 others:
- Examine the hoofprints on the ground to get the quest http://aowow.org/https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=1268 Suspicious Hoofprints.
- Pick up the tiny medallion on a plank of wood to get http://aowow.org/https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=1269 Lieutenant Paval Reethe.

after doing the questioning reethe quest https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=1273 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=1273 i received a quest to take the shield to mosarn in TB.

The Shady Rest Inn quest chain can start either at the Inn itself, from the objects, or from Brackenwall Village (37.6,31.7), https://vanillawowdb.com/?zone=15"">Dustwallow Marsh.
If the player chooses to start the quest chain in Brackenwall, https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=4926"">Krog (36,31) will give the following quest:
This quest completes at https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=23567"">Inspector Tarem (29.6,47.5), located just outside of the inn, who will then use powder to help 'illuminate' the ""clues."" This basically causes purple arrows to appear, pointing at the individual quest objects strewn about the destroyed inn. Obtaining and completing this quest is not necessary, as the quest chains can be started directly from the objects regardless.

From the Shady Rest Inn (29.4,47.5), the quest branches into three paths, each starting when a different item gets looted.
The first quest for each chain will have you bring the three items to https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=4926"">Krog in Brackenwall Village.

Loot the https://vanillawowdb.com/?object=20992"">Black Shield (29.6,48.6):
Loot the https://vanillawowdb.com/?object=187273"">Suspicious Hoofprints (29.7,47.7):
Loot the https://vanillawowdb.com/?object=21042"">Theramore Guard Badge (29.8,48.2):
After completing all three quest chains, https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=4926"">Krog will offer a fifth https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=1276"">The Black Shield quest, asking players to bring the https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=5919"">Blackened Iron Shield to https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=4943"">Mosarn (55.6,79.6) in https://vanillawowdb.com/?zone=1638"">Thunder Bluff.

Mosarn will then volunteer new information regarding the ""mystery"" and starts the following short chain:
When these three quests have been completed, https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=4926"">Krog will direct you to https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=6546"">Tabetha (46.0,57.1) for further progression and conclusion:

Trivia:

Although the name is a little different, this is most likely a reference to ""Moser's Blessed Circle"", an exceptional unique http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/exceptional/ushields.shtml shield in ""that other Blizzard game"" Diablo 2.

The shield's (and NPCs) name is in turn a reference to http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,16638/ Mark Moser, who of course is a Blizzard employee. He works in Quality Assurance.
