Description

Now that you scared the centaur clans, it's time to bleed them. When traveling Desolace, hunt centaur. I don't care which clan you hunt. Just gather ears. A hoard of ears.

By weakening their numbers you will weaken their resolve, and stamp out any thoughts of expansion.

Completion

By now, the centaur must know your name. I'm sure they know it, and respect it, and fear it. And just as they know you, they know the banner under which you ride.

Khan'Dezhepah is a pre-requisite for this quest.

You may want to do that before grinding out the Centaurs for the Magram Alliance.

Don't be confused like I was, any centaur will do...not just those with Centaur in their name (for example: Kolkar Centaur).

I got a 100% droprate at 72,78. Anywhere else it was 20% or something like that..

the very south western portion of the kolkar villge has a huge drop rate i'd say 50-80% right on the southwestern edge. :) i killed them all over the village that was a great spot!

On the eastern side of Desolace, there is a little village called Kolkar Village. There, you will see humanoids there, kill any kind of them and the ear will drop. The best drop rate is on the outer portion of the village.

Killed 10 of the level 30-32 ones, got 1 ear from the 8th centaur that I killed.
Killed 10 of the level 33-34 Gelkis centaurs to raise Magram faction, got 6 ears all together.

Well...there does not seem to be any rhyme nor reason as to what drops more or where.
I gained close to 3 bars collecting these things at level 35.
I was at the edges, in the middle of the camp and tried different level mobs; the drop rate at this time is not good.
However, the exp got me to the next level.
I suppose that's one good thing.

Make sure you take this quest before starting to grind magram/gelkis reputation.

If you made the same mistake I did and did not have the quest while grinding the 100 centaurs for reputation, then simply do yourself a favor, drop this quest, and never look back.

This should be like the Hillsbrad skull quest. 100% drop and you should get 2 of them! How do some Centaurs not have an ear let alone 2...

I killed 35 centaurs before I got my 15 ears. Throughout the time I was doing the quest I seemed to nearly always have about half as many ears as kills. Farmed them in the Magram camp.

Do centaurs not normally have ears or something? They could make this more realistic by raising the drop rate to 200% and making you farm about 60 of them.

From what I can tell, centaurs must be pretty deaf creatures.
Every centaur in desolace drops the ears, but be prepared to grind, because the drop rate is not very good.
