If I did not know Magistrate Solomon personally, I would say the man has gone mad. Send the Night Watch to Lakeshire because Stormwind refuses aid? The Night Watch was formed because Stormwind left us when this foul magic seeped into the land. If I sent my Night Watch, this town would be overrun by evil before the guards even reached the forest's edge.

This quest (and others like it) are imho to get you to change zones.

No, it gets you to Darkshire so you can pick up the flight path. That's the whole reason to go. Run down, fly back and when you are ready to do quests there you have a quicker way to get there.

Neither is Lady Prestor. :)

Any quests that would've had you speak with her have been adjusted so that you speak with King Varian Wrynn.

As above - this quest chain, along with https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=116 Dry Times, is to get you to explore the human zones, and gather flightpaths.
