Manhunt

Find and kill "the Collector" then return to Marshal Dughan with The Collector's Ring.
The Collector's Ring

Description

If the "Collector" is taking gold from our mines then he's stealing from the kingdom! Bring the Collector to justice, and bring me the ring mentioned in the pickup schedule you gave me. It may tell us whom the Collector is working for...

That Pickup Schedule says the Collector is hiding out at the Brackwell Pumpkin Patch. You should search for him there.

Reward

You can choose one of these awards:
Stormwind Chain Gloves
Elastic Wristguards

Progress

Did you find the Collector? Did you discover whom he's working for?

Completion

You found him? Well done, <name>. He won't be "collecting" from the Elwynn Mines again!

And this ring you found is interesting... it's a membership ring for the old Stonemason's Guild in Stormwind. Why would a lowly thief have an artisan guild ring, and why are the Defias Thieves collecting money from our mines?

Difficult questions. I hope one day we'll have answers.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 850 experience (5 10 at max. level)
  • 250 Reputation with Stormwind

Morgan the Collector is the mob you are looking for. He is located at the Brackwell Pumpkin Patch at 71,80. There are several mobs around him so the quest can be slightly difficult if soloing.

It appears that the 3 named mobs at the house in Brackwell Pampkin Patch always spawn together, and would not respawn until all three is dead.

So if you go to the house and can't find Morgan the Collector, kill the rest first -- then Morgan will respawn (along with others).

This prabably isn't a bug ... devs presumably made it this way so that some players can clear the house solo by using ""hit-and-run"" tactics.

By the way, make sure to clear the area around the house before engaging the named mobs inside the house. It seems that you can pull the Defias mobs without getting the named mobs involved (assuming that you don't fight on their footsteps).

Just did this as a level 13 druid and embarassingly died on my first attempt. Be wary of the gouge if youre a healing class and keep your health high - one unfortunate gouged heal and its welcome to wipeland.

I soloed this as a level 14 paladin without a problem.

The actual coordinates I found Morgan at were 71.1, 80.6, in the house at the SE corner of the pumpkin patch.

Perfectly soloable as a lvl 10 priest, didn't even use a potion. Just clear the garden, make sure you are at full health, then cast shield and nuke him. Refresh shield when possible, and run when he's dead. Not to difficult.

You will need to have https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=1307 Gold Pickup Schedule to do this quest.
Instead of that, its easy enough for one player to finish it.

So I was able to solo this as a level 10 mage with relative ease. Firt I cleared all the mobs around the house and the one in the field in case I needed some room to run around. Then I filled up on health and mana before engaging the collector and his adds. First thing was to frostbolt the collector and then hit him with Arcane Missles. By that time both The Collector and his add were on me so I popped Frost Nova, jumped back and hit The Collector with a Fire Blast and a Fireball, killing him. I looted his body and got the ring, and right as that was happening his add unfroze so I polymorphed him and ran out. Easy as a mage with these spells. I Hope this helped.

I soloed it as a level 11 warlock with ease. I just sent in my voidwalker, feared the mage, and piled up the DoTs on the collecter. Once he died, I did the same for the second one, always keeping one feared.
Good luck!

Found this an incredibly easy quest as a level 9 Warrior. Basically what I did was I charged the guy with the lowest health, drank a potion about half way through killing him, then killed the mage, then the Collector. If you're having trouble with this quest, try killing them in that order.

Okay...soloed as a lvl 11 hunter. Send pet in, spam Arcane Shot, using Steady Shot as needed and Kill Command when it's off cooldown. If your pet dies, keep fighting, melee if you have to. If you die, get back to your corpse, rez yourself and your pet, and keep fighting. I did it with one death.

Actually, you don't even need to kill them all to complete the quest. With my level 10 rogue, I fired a shot with a bow to lure them out. I killed the Collector first (using a healing potion in the middle of it), then killed one more and almost got the mage before she finished me off. As long as you can resurrect and get back to the dead Collector's body in time to loot it, you're home free. So in reality, killing the Collector *first* and not *last* can also work if you don't mind death after killing him.

I was finally able to do it as a level 10 priest, after multiple wipes on both level 9 and level 10, by following the advice above. Kill at least one of the mobs, then die, then come back and kill the other two. I *was* getting a bit better at my rotation during this period, but I just never could get the hang of staying alive while being flayed by fireballs.

It is possible to solo it.

I just solo'd it on my paladin. What you need to do, with a pally at least, is keep spamming crusader's strike and Judgement. When you hit about 46% health use Holy Light. Keep spamming Holy Light when you hit 46%. ONLY go for ""The Collector"", once he dies loot the ring and run. MAKE SURE YOU CLEAR THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE.

Dancing around the house to avoid https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=881 Surena's fireballs is the easiest way to live through this as a melee class. After https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=473 the Collector (whom I killed first) and https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=880 Erlan are dead you can easily polish her off. No healing required, even with no heirlooms.

I just did this with a level 9 priest, roughly following some of the advice above.

I cleared the field of bandits, first. Then I pulled the Collector and focused only on him. I kept up my Power Word: Shield and used a health potion. When I Collector was dead, I looted the ring and ran. My health was darned near zero, but I made it out alive.
