It's pretty tough to solo this at level 10ish. I recommend finding at least one more, AND clearing the roaming gnolls. Also, avoid the camps, they have a rather large radius of aggro :)

This is the first ""elite"" quest in the human storyline. This is best in a group or you will most likely die from adds, extra monsters attacking you.

Once Hogger is dead have everyone in your party loot his body and pick up his claw, it will be available to everyone that has the quest in your party.

Soloed this at lvl 11 with my pally. Had to use my shield and Lay on hands to make it:) but it wasn't hard.

I had no problems with this one. Had a good group and we took care of him easily, just get a two-three people group and take him down really.
Ye, u might wanna take the gnoll's in the area just in case.

Marshal Dughan wants you, and not him to kill Hogger for a reason.
He wouldn't last 10 seconds against Hogger, and you should not attempt this without a 40 man raid.

Hogger has three different spawn locations, one is near the stream seperating Elwynn Forest from Westfall sorta patrolining. Another place is by a big tree sorta in the middle of the gnolls. The last place is by another tree but more near the stream than the middle. Hogger is an lvl 11 elite Gnoll. Of the area that he's in, go north (but not into Westfall) and I'm sure you'll find him. It should be easier with a buddy unless can stun him and run if you have to.. I've done this quest with my Human, Blossem. I hope you find him. Happy Hunting!

Difficulty: Medium-Hard for levels 10-14
Soloable: Only if you are extremely bored.

Background: Hogger is one of THE most infamous villains ever created in videogames. Being an iconic symbol of pure pownage, this NPC has a reputation of attacking local villages and making little kids cry to their mothers. This has resulted in quite the bounty on his claw, with the quest available to the Alliance.

He is the leader of the Riverpaw Gnolls, and is believed to have a brother not far from his position. Hogger should be approached with extreme caution.

Tips: Hogger does not stay in one place for long. He patrols the entire campgrounds, occasionally with some patrols with him. When engaged with other gnolls, be on the lookout for this elite.

As for fighting him, you should be fine if you bring along a consious healer, strong tank, and a DPS or two. The tank will get hit hard, but do not falter whatever happens. Again, watch out for patrols!

In the Cataclysm version of this quest, you don't kill Hogger, you just bring him down to 1 hp. After that https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=46942 General Marcus Jonathan appears with some backup and arrests Hogger, which is the explanation as to why he also can be found in https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=46254 the Stockade.

I love how the area that Hogger wanders around in is now known as ""Hogger Hill"". He is also surrounded by piles of large, bloody corpses of some sort.
