Relatively easy to march him to the entrance of the cave if you sit back and let him tank, but it gets very nasty in the open air because there are spawns at the cave entrance and in front of both of the tents, all of which will probably be up when you get him out if you killed them on the way in. It's possible to pull the groups to him instead of waiting for him to blunder into them, cutting the fight to only 3 or 4 mobs at once. Bring friends.

Absolutely a Party quest...when you go thru the cave it should be 1 mob per fight...outside is different story just as you came in...he will take a break at the exit of cave...be prepared to fight the groups of 2-3 mobs all over again...GL..Bring help..

I found this fairly easy to solo, atleast with a warlock. He's elite, and an excellent tank. He'll even taunt! As long as you attack the same target he is during fights with multiple enemies, you're almost guaranteed to make it. As already stated, pull mobs to him, rather than letting him charge them.

The NPC himself is waiting at 28,12. Make your way to the big room at the back of the cave, then look for a little path on the lower level of its north wall. If you're soloing this, pray that Kazon (https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=584 https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=584), a rare spawn, isn't waiting at a camp outside to make a tough 4-pull an instadeath 5-pull.

i did this with a mate, extremely easy - that was until we were a few metres from the end and a horde player with PvP enabled walked past. the corporal decided to attack him (a level ?? to my lvl 35 friend) and was slaughtered. so now we have to do it all over again. GARGH!!!

Wow, this NPC is a perfect crap-PUG simulator. He aggroes 4 mobs, then runs to the ranged mob firing at him, pulling another 5, causing a wipe. Seriously, this is yet another unenjoyable escort quest...

have to agree with chimera.
as a 24 druid i though i might try this, i would heal him when needed and else just kill mobs in cat form.

we came to the entrace, then he aggroed 2 mobs and a imp, the imp then ran past two groups, and he followed. and somehow it ended up with 8mobs in the end, and i failed the quest.
i would say you need atleast two players for this quest.

I believe it's quests like these that led Blizzard to turn BC escorts into Group quests by default. As others mentioned above me, the Corporal will happily attempt to take on far more mobs than he can handle. It's a taste of what you'll later go through during https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=10284"">(Quest #10284). On the plus side, this escort has no spawned ambushes, so you'll just be dealing with mobs that are already there. Thus, on a crowded day, when the mobs are being mowed down as fast as they can spawn, this quest is effortless. On the other hand, if you're the only one there it's a real grinder.

in addition, the respawn rate of the blackrock orcs is insane, so it makes impossible to clean the outter camps and then begin the escort quest.

Easily soloed as a level 23 Feral Druid. Put on my stam gear for bear form, and went into cat. Weird, I know, but it worked. The reason I wore my stam gear is because while he took the melee mobs, I would destroy the imps, then pop into bear to take the casters. When we got outside, I pulled one of the camps and ran back till I was OOC, then turned back and healed him for the win. :)

Very easy q. As somebody mentione above the hardest part is when you leave the cave. But you can easily use fact that the Keeshan will help you immedietely you become hit by mobs. So my strategy was to run in front of Keeshan and pull mobs in advance and when the mob is down Keeshan returns back and gets full of HP.

I was doing that q 2x once in group when we were in serious troubles outside the cave and then alone with 24 warlock and without any serious problem. I have cleaned whole area in front of cave entrance BEFORE Keeshan even started resting. Just pull one group of mob and let Keeshan attack them then let him finish the mobs and run for another group. (but let Keeshan reset full hp).

Piece of cake

I found this quest to be very easy for a level 25 Retribution Paladin. I didn't need to heal him ever, and as Piramid said above me, just run slightly ahead of him and pull the proper number of mobs back to him. He has mocking blow up on his target at just about all times, so pulling one enemy is almost a joke.

Things to note: He is buffable and healable. If you have buffs or heals, this quest shouldn't be hard at all. He does sometimes run towards ranged mobs like imps, but I would always focus them first before pulling groups back to the Corporal. They're imps, not bosses, so killing them isn't exactly a chore either. Exorcism helped a lot too.

Gives you 2550xp at level 25, as well as 350 reputation with Stormwind. (NOT the 87 rainbow reputation as listed in the summary above.)

I solo'd this quest yesterday as a level 27 rogue.

Keeshan is more than capable of taking care of himself, and if you follow behind him and help him fight the monsters he's attacking then it shouldn't be too hard.

To be honest I was more concerned with me surviving than him... I tried that technique other people mentioned of dragging mobs back to him but it didn't work out so well. I just let him run into them as he would and things went fine for me.

Did this as a 27 feral druid in Wailing Cavern gear. Easily solo-able for me. The guy had 1.4k health (and some change). He taunted multiple mobs, properly ""tab targeting"". The only problem was when he pulled 2 champions and a caster, who banished me. Thankfully, he survived long enough for me to heal him back to full.

All told, the escort took about 12-13 minutes (a thorns buff + some of a second) from start to finish.

When he exits the cave, he will sit down for a second and say something about needing a moment to rest and aggro'd the two orcs at the entrance. After they are dead, he will stand around for a few moments and do nothing. Do not worry, he'll start walking again soon.

Once he starts running, it's just a run back to town and no more mobs unless you aggro something along the road.

25 fury warrior, haven't played in a long time on this character. Thus I wasn't too fresh with my moves and such, and died twice on the way in due to runners.

Looking back, with a little more experience and getting the feel for my toon back, I think I'd try to solo the whole thing in defensive stance as fury with sword + board. This would allow interupts on thsoe pesky casters with shield bash, as fury I picked up piercing howl, which can slow runners in defensive stance, and the survivability against multiple mobs seems better this way. I had a bad feeling there would be some summoner + imp + double champion pulls,

I'll probably go back at a bit higher level, because at 25 my aggro radius just felt *huge*, and with all these mobs attempting to run on death, with ranged casters and imps all over the place, I think it would be easier solo'd when I'm higher level. Do more damage to the mobs, have more hit points, a lower aggro radius, I think I'll go back at 27-28.

A group would be ideal though. This was a tough cave/area for me to handle as a new warrior.

On a side note, as a miner/blacksmith, I was pleased with this cave. Once I got fairly deep into it, I noticed 3 tin veins on my map, which can be hard to find at times. Upon mining all 3, another node popped up. I think if one were to spend some time grinding in this cave, they could get quite a few tin veins. Not a terrible place to pickup wool cloth either, and I'm noticing right now, both are selling quite well on the auction house.

This quest was EXTREMELY easy as a 26 mage. I had 0 problems doing this quest. This NPC can hold his own against one or two mobs, and last a while on 3 mobs.

Most mobs i was fighting at one time was 4. When that happened, he took 3, I sheeped one, pulled one mob off him, killed it, pulled the second one off him as he finished the first, and it was all gravy from there. He ended the encounter with 25% hp.

On 3-pulls, i sheeped one, killed one myself while he killed another. You can see the trend.

I must say even if he pulled five, i think I could of handled it, sheep one, pull two, froze nova them nuke em down, and finish the job.

Overall Frost nova and sheep= the win

Other classes may have a problem though, this is all from a mage-perspective.

Everything went extremely easy untill I left the cave. First he pulled 3 mobs right outside the cave which I easily killed with my 26 pala, but then he continued walking to the huts and managed somehow to pull the whole encampment ~8 mobs.
The nooby npc died but I killed every orc but I didn't bother to get the quest again.
Just take it easy when you leave the cave.

Just soloed as a level 24 ""enhancement"" shaman (not that 15 talent points makes you much of anything...) - got a little bit hairy leaving the cave but as shaman there are things you can do to help yourself out :

1. Pull early, and slightly before when Corporal Keeshan would. This means as soon as you engage, he will join in, and often take one or two mobs off you, leaving you one on you. If you let him pull, he will take large damage, and if you pull too early ; you will take large damage before he arrives.

2. Drop Stoneclaw totem to split melee mobs up / Take a mob off the Corporal.

3. Switch between Water Shield (when you're letting him take some damage) when you're healing him ; and then switch to Lightning Shield if you get aggro from healing or from totems [say, for example, when Stoneclaw totem gets killed].

4. When low mana, switch to Ghost Wolf ; go a few steps in front and get some ticks of Drink in (with Water Shield up).

5. Don't go into Wowhead to read things once you get out the other side of the camp ; he suddenly starts running and you have to go Ghost Wolf to try and prevent him leaving you behind like an idiot.
.... Yknow ; I hear people can be this careless ... Not me of course....

6. The main thing is to not underestimate the damage the casters especially can do ; Always be watchful of your health and his ; and use totems creatively to divert damage away from you or him when necessary- you can't simply stand back and heal him because you get aggro from all the mobs he hasn't yet hit (3 out of 4 can switch to you after a single heal ; so drop stoneclaw and help kill the one that he HAS hit so that you have one less mob to worry about, for example).

All in all ; quite a tough but enjoyable quest really! Good luck.

Just did this as a level 27 feral druid... all I have to say is this quest is a pain in the right butt!... to me the hardest part is to stealth past the first few mobs, once inside it isn't so bad....

Did this the same day on my rogue, much easier, stealth, kill, profit.

(Keep in mind I had heirlooms on both)

I have been doing this quest twice at lvl 80 because the first time there were some hordes attacking Lakeshire for fun and they thought it was fun to also kill him (he never reached Lakeshire ironically) after a stupid escort that took more than 10 minutes with his slow speed

I think they really need to scale the escort quest's NPC's to what the player can walk or do on a mount so it doesn't take too long for 1 escort quest
