Vessel of Dragon's Blood (3)
Provided Item:
Thaumaturgy Vessel Lockbox

Description

You have been most helpful to me, <class>. I would reward you with the very recipe for the brew I gave you earlier... but I would ask of you a task that is quite dangerous. Hear my request.

This lockbox contains three empty thaumaturgy vessels; they are imbued with an attunement aura that will drain the blood of a scorched guardian dragon. Using one on the beast will anger it greatly, so be warned. Once you have all three filled, bring them to me.

Do this, and the recipe will be yours.

Reward

The following spell will be cast on you:
Restorative Potion

Progress

Have you used the vessels to get me the scorched guardian dragon blood I need? Yes, I know it is a dangerous task... but the recipe for my restorative brew awaits your success. Risk and reward, my friend... risk and reward...

Completion

From one alchemist to another, I salute you. Here, take this recipe and commit it to your knowledge. May it bring you the success and rewards that it has brought me over the years.

The dragons are in Lethlor Ravine on the eastern side of the Badlands.

This quest is only available to Alchemists. It is very easily soloable. While the Dragons are elite you don't have to kill them. Just use the bottles its a channeled spell then run away or do what you can do to drop aggro. It's recommended that you do what ever your class can to get the dragons to take a long time to get to you or prevent them from hitting you while you channel.

I did this w/ my hunter. Being hit by the dragons does not interrupt the channeling process (like most channeling) so you can still get hit as the OP says. As a hunter this was easy. Dismissed pet and used feign death.

This quest is stupidly easy as a druid, the mobs are dragonkin and so theyre affected by hibernate. Just chain hibernate one on the edge until youve filled all three vials from him then hibernate once more after the last vial, travel form and run

As of 2.3 these mobs are still elite. Still cake though. Range isn't that far to loose aggro.

All dragons are still elite so it's a bit tricky. Quest done solo as a lvl 52 enhancement shaman. Not too difficult but since the elites don't respond well to using stoneclaw totem you have to kill the guardian once you get the blood. Obviously avoid using flame shock and magma/searing totem. Keep lightning shield up, have windfury on your weapons, use shamanistic rage if you have it, blood fury if you're an orc, anything to reduce damage that you might take. Try to replenish yourself after you kill each one. It's a good idea to temporarily make your home Kargath so you can just hearth/astral recall back there upon completion of this quest.

Did this as a druid level 45. I kept one dragon rooted for three minutes and took three blood samples. (I then proceded to give him a cookie and orange juice) Easy quest for druids.

I dropped Alchemy/Herbalism a few months back to try my hand at Engineer/Mining... now I'm back as an Alchemist, to find that I cannot make this potion any more, nor can I pick up the quest to learn it.

in short: this quest is not repeatable.
which is a shame, cause it's one of the best potions in the game, even at 70.

This quest be a simple test of your ability to use your profession! If you did your research, you got da https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=6049 Fire Protection Potion a long time ago. It requires Fire Oil which you should have had for 15 or 20 levels, a Leaded Vial (you do carry vials, right?), and Small Flame Sac which drops off da https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=2725 Scalding Whelps which you probably be killing on your way to da big dragons. Da https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=2726 Scorched Guardians won't melee you if you don't interrupt https://vanillawowdb.com/?spell=8873 Flame Breath, and dat doesn't do enough damage to exhaust da potion before you can fill a vial and run out of range. So easy, mon!

I can't see any mention of it here and I was scratching my head for a while as to how as an alchemist I couldn't pick this quest up ... you need 210 alchemy :)

Counts for ""X Quests Completed"". (Probably counts for ""Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms"" too, but I was topped out already.)
