Steel Plate Helm (4)

Description

In the time of legends, Aturk would crush the skulls of his enemies and grind the bone into a fine powder for use in filament. Long gone are those days, <race>. The Warchief calls for peace among the clans. Old enemies are now only watched with weary eyes!

Unbelievable, I know, but such is the will of Thrall.

Enough lamenting! You are here to learn, and learn you will! Bring me four steel breastplates and four steel helms and you will gain a taste of war!

Reward

The following spell will be cast on you:
Teach Orcish War Leggings

Progress

Aturk, like time, waits for no one! Hurry up fool!

Completion

It seems you are but another complacent lemming of the Warchief, <name>. How disappointing.

How I long for a glorious death upon the battlefield. Instead, I am stuck here, by order of Thrall, to teach infants how to craft! Watch and learn, child!

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 315 experience (18 90 at max. level)

You can get lots of iron by doing full runs around Arathi Highlands or Thousand Needles. You could buy them from AH, but thats quite expensive. Also, this quest is needed to get a quest chain which gives you BS recipes and trinkets.

After completing this quest, you can get Booty Bay or Bust! (https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2757 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2757) from Ox next to the anvil. This leads to the Mithril Order quests for Blacksmiths.

The reward - learning the new recipe - is not shown when the player accepts the quest, but it is granted nonetheless.

Moreover, it is available for former Alliance blacksmiths who transfer to the Horde. I, a draenei-turned-blood elf paladin, was able to complete the quest today and learn the recipe. Whether it persists through transfer back is yet unknown.

...And having returned to the Alliance - once more blue and busty - I can attest that it does persist through transfer. My paladin is now a draenei schooled in the ways of traditional Orcish armorsmithing. How ironic.

It should be noted that Blacksmithing 215 is also a pre-req for this quest to appear.
