Description

<Bolstered, Fitzsimmons continues his tale...>

I am the sole survivor of the ill-fated Third Fleet of Kul Tiras, wrecked off the coast to the north. But although I'm the only member of the fleet still breathing, I'm not the only one still walking about! For on one of our ships was hidden a great, and terrible treasure, and the eerie power of it keeps the souls of my brothers trapped within the ships' rotting hulls.

But if you can free some of my brothers, then perhaps you can break their curse.

As with most of the quests that have underwater fighting, it's very easy to get overwhelmed by adds when you're swimming around in the ships. The easiest way to clear is to sit just outside the ship's opening and pull them one/two at a time. I saw a poor mage swim into the bottom floor of the boat and get mauled by like six mobs....

First mate Snellig is located on the first ship nearest the shore. He spawns just inside the hole on the east side of the ship by the shoreline.

There's a hole in the side of the ship towards the shore - Snellig and another sailor or two are in here. If you walk in off the shore, you'll aggro them and they'll chase you. Kill Snellig and get the snuff box.

The mobs here are on a pretty quick respawn - killing enough sailors is easy enough if you pull one at a time. Killing the marines are harder, as they're inside the ship, more chance of getting overwhelmed.

Soloed this as a Lvl 26 hunter, tanking with the pet (who kept getting turned into a ghost humanoid with a curse!)

To get the rest of the mobs after Snellig, there's a breach in the stern of the ship (above water) where you can swim up and take the sailors one at a time if you're carefull...

This quest is easy to do as a 27 Shaman.

Oh, and I suggest you start at the top of the deck and work your way down, that way you are sure to get the whole quest done, except maybe one or two Marines.

Correct 13,30. Although the ship just beyond it has sailors and marines underwater as well.

If you are going to solo this, enter the back of the boat from the surface. There is a small hole there. As you climb up there will be 2 marines that jump you. Fight your way to the front and then down the staircase.

There are lots of chances to get jumped by adds when you are engaged with one mob, so be careful the lower you go.

And Snellig is on the bottom underwater with at least one guard.

Recommend pulling mobs to above water or have lock cast underwater breathing on you. Solo'ed as a 26 lock.

This is a fun quest to do because of the curse that these mobs put on you. Who wouldn't want to transform into an ethereal undead sailor??

haha after I finished the quest I didn't feel like battling my way out so I just hearth back not realizing I would end up in SW. Well since I still had the curse on a bunch of people on the trade channel were like omg horde undead in SW. The best is when some pally started following me until everyone started to realize I was a Draenei. The laugh was well worth the flight back to the Wetlands =D

Did this as level 31 hunter. Of course it was easy for me but it can be deadly for those who are in level 20s. Try to level a bit higher before you take on this one. First mate snellig is actually under the boat. It would be hard to find at first glance.

This is one of those annoying quests that asks you to kill 5 marines, but requires you to killl much more, just to get to the 13 sailors needed.
