Speak with Klockmort Spannerspan in Ironforge.

Description

A gnome friend, Klockmort Spannerspan, sent word to me from Ironforge. He tells me he needs help on a dangerous, but essential, mission into Gnomeregan, the once great gnome city now contaminated and filled with mad gnomes and their devices.

I must stay here, but my heart aches to help my friend. If you can go in my stead, then I would be much indebted to you.

You may find Klockmort in Tinkertown, in Ironforge.

I do! I do need help with a mission into Gnomeregan. And you're just the <class> to do it!

You don't need to get this quest in order to get the second quest (Essential Artificials). In IF he offers you Essential Artificials quest without doing this quest. If your in the area it's easy xp to accept it and when you happen to be in IF go turn it in. But if your in IF it's not fees able to go all the way to Darnassus to get a simple quest to get the second quest especially for the low xp/rep. Then again this is my opinion.

This quest counts toward the Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms achievement.

https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=6142 Mathiel will not give this quest to me. Must be a race-specific quest.

At the time I attempted to get this quest, I had not completed ANY quests for Gnomergan, and that includes https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2924 Essential Artifacts.

Edit: After a closer look, https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=6142 Mathiel is a warrior quest NPC, so it is likely that only a warrior can get this quest and quite possibly has a pre-req.

Actually I'm doing this quest on my level 80 gnome right now. So it's not specific to warriors. Not sure about prereq's.
