The Only Cure is More Green Glow

Travel to Gnomeregan and bring back High Potency Radioactive Fallout. Be warned, the fallout is unstable and will collapse rather quickly.

Ozzie will also require your Heavy Leaden Collection Phial when the task is complete.
High Potency Radioactive Fallout
Heavy Leaden Collection Phial
Provided Item:
Heavy Leaden Collection Phial

Description

Not only was your sample insufficient in quantity, it was also impure.

What we require is more green glow. The troggs are obviously not irradiated sufficiently to fulfill our needs. You will have to go into Gnomeregan and bring back some radioactive fallout, straight from the tap. I am speaking of the irradiated slimes, lurkers and horrors. Be warned, the containment of this type of fallout is difficult. You may need to make several attempts with the phial until a suitable sampling is recovered.

Reward

Also, you get: 25

Progress

Hrm, you're not glowing. That's a good sign.

Completion

<Ozzie examines you.> Impressive, you still have all of your limbs. Now it's time to see what this stuff can do!

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 245 experience (14 70 at max. level)

This quest seems to be bugged as of 4/6/2007. I kept getting a 'You are out of range' error.

I also had to use the phial to collect green glow on a LIVE monster. Killing them, and trying it on a corpse that was giving off the green glow, always failed with a ""I am out of range"" error.

When I tried it on a live monster - a slime - it worked after a few tries. Just keep using it when close up to the monster and you should get it within a few tries.

The quest name is a reference to a Saturday Night Live skit where they repeat the line ""The only prescription is more cowbell.""

hardest part was to get into the dungeon. i had to mind soothe a lot of mobs and i still died only once. once ur inside, jump down from the middle of the small path, when u come from front entrance. once down, shield and heal, and start spamming quest item. when u got it, fear and HS out

Hmmm. Just did this quest because, well, I need every scrap of Gnomeregan rep I can scrounge up and only just remembered this quest existed. Very disappointing that, unlike all of the other quests that take you inside the instance, and the preceding quest in the chain which, like the Techbot quest, takes place outside the instance, you get nothing but the cash and (since I was level 60, very minimal) XP. :(

Hopefully this little whine'll save effort for the next person who comes along trying to get their Gnomeregan up. :)

Yeah, how very gay.... did it on my 70 rogue for ambassador title and no freakin rep. how do you not get a little famous in the eyes of the gnomes by helping them identify a key reason to the destruction of their home? Ithink blizz ought to give it a rep reward in the next patch or some time down the line. I didnt even bother to look it up because i was so sure a gnomeregan quest would give gnomeregan rep.

This quest really is worthless for the higher players. No loremaster score, no dissable reward, no reputation gain and such a small amount of silver it's laughable.

Tip: Don't do this one unless you're running Gnomeregan for real.

The posts above were correct in saying it had to extracted from a live slime. If you try doing it on a dead one you will just get the message 'Out of Range'.
However if your trying to get Gnomeragan rep don't bother doing it. It gives you nothing save some silver.

Actually, I don't think it matters what level you are; all you get is some coin and some ""no event here, go quest somewhere else.""

I wanted to see the gnome fro, too :(

I just did this quest at 80. It works perfectly, but it does take several tried to collect the item. Also, it both counted towards the 3000 quests and the Loremaster achievement.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU MUST TURN IN THIS QUEST WITHIN 2 HOURS OF OBTAINING THE GLOW. IF YOU DON'T THE STUFF DISAPPEARS FROM YOUR BAG AND YOU HAVE TO GO BACK INTO THE INSTANCE TO GET MORE.

I DID THIS WITH MY 80 MAGE TO WALK THROUGH A 27 PRIEST I AM NOW LEVELING. I LOGGED OFF IN THE HOPE OF COMPLETING THE QUEST AT A LATER TIME AND OOPS NO GREEN GLOW IN MY BAG WHEN I LOGGED BACK ON.

DON'T EVER SAY YOU WEREN'T WARNED. GOOD LUCK!
