Iridescent Sprite Darter Wing (10)

Description

Well met, <class>. I've traveled with my companions down to the Feralas on a mission for our Orgrimmar masters.

My life-mate Korrin finds great pleasure in new clothing, so I aim to make her a new cloak adorned with the gossamer wings of faerie dragons. Would you be able to help me? Sprite darters with gorgeous wings I want are west of Camp Mojache.

Reward

Also, you get: 65

Progress

The sprite darters can be dangerous critters when provoked. Be careful when dealing with them, <class>. And be even more careful of any night elves in the area. The pestering fools tend to hold up in the forests also.

When you've gotten enough of the wings, let me know, I'll be sure to reward you well!

Completion

Wonderful, <class>! These will do nicely. There are enough here to make a cloak for Korrin, and possibly even more! Thank you.

I hope the trip wasn't too dangerous? The area of Feralas is not known for being forgiving, but you've obviously done well enough.

Thank you again, <class>.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 390 experience (23 40 at max. level)
  • 250 Reputation with Orgrimmar

They are non-aggro and found around 69.49. This is soloable at 40, but the mobs are 42-43.

They're fairly annoying for casters, as they seem to have high resists to everything but holy (usually a 50-75% resist for non-holy).

Good drop rate, was getting 2 from some 0 from others but most of the time was getting 1 from the rest

Took 5-10mins, easy experience

These mobs are melee based, and are neutral around 69,49. They have a Mana Burn ability which all casters and paladins will find a pain. Try to interrupt them before they complete the mana burn cast or it will cause you to lose 100-300 mana.

The sprites were not resistant to any of my DoTs as a lock--corruption, curse of agony, or immolate. Which made hunting them down and ripping out their wings more pleasant... pretty things that they are.

Ugh btw: youll get the encrusted minerals much faster than the wings. in 6-7 kills i got all the minerals..and i still only have 3 wings..

did as a lvl 43 hunter. easy kills and xp as they do very little damage but i found the mana burn to be INCREDIBILY annoying. my advice to fellow hunters is to watch for the dark whirpools to form (meaning mana burn is on the way) then use scatter shot to interrupt the casting. its about a 2-2 1/2 second cast so hopefully the one scatter shot causes enough of an interrupt that you can FF them down before they get off another one. happy hunting :)

42-43 non-agressive mobs
Found at about 70,47, southwest of town.
About 40% droprate but can drop 1-2

Go to 68,46 for the next quest https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2974 A Grim Discovery

Easy. They are non-aggroable plus a fairly low lvl. They DO resist a lot tho, but I wouldn't think too much of it.
Yes you can also complete some of the Natural materials quest here.
Watch out for allies and have fun!

Some of the Sprite Dragons will drop more than one wing, so the quest is relatively simple. They are also neutral and will not attack unless you attack first -- handy if they're bunched and flying around together. However, there are Grimtotem mobs nearby (look like Taurens) that DO attack without being provoked. I thought they were harmless Tauren at first. :(

As of 4.01 is the quest still in the game? I can't seem to pick up a quest from this guy.

This quest is still available to me pre-Cataclysm although it can't be completed cause the creatures are no longer there.

This is now the 2nd and 3rd quests to do this since 4.0

These are the worst quests... like 2 sprite darters, 40% drop and about 3min respawn... and usually 2 other players waiting... sigh.
