When you get to the top of Jintha'Alor, take a left and go threw the doorway and into an arena type place. Clear the area. Then wait for the princess to go her patrol. then pick off the guards. Once the guards are down, take out the princess.

Don't forget to create your ZF mallet if you have the item for it.

Then, go back to the stairs u came up, and to the right of them you will see a cave with two guards. Take out the guards, go threw the cave and lock the cage. Then just jump off the cliff (carefully).

The above comments are great. Remember as the one poster said, take the Zul Furak mallet to the altar if you need to complete it. My only comment is that this quest ending is the best cut scene in the game. I still get a lump in my throat every time Sharpbeak's parents arrive and say thank you. Maybe it's a ""girl"" thing, but it's like a happy ending to a Disney movie. I give it 5 Stars....a must see.

The Vile Priestess Hexx spawns at the Altar where Elder Torntusk is laying. The co-ords are are 59, 77. It is the same Altar that you create the Mallet of Zul Farrak. Note the cage for sharpbeak is not at this altar, you come to the altar first, and fight her for Hexx's Key.

If you show up and she is not there, someone has killed her before you, just wait and she will re-spawn in about 5-10 mins.

I did this solo and didn't have to touch any guards around the arena. She does polymorph you, and curse you, but as a druid I HoTed myself then DoTed her then went feral to avoid her polymorphing me. She did heal herself halfway through the first health bar. At this point I HoTed myself again and repeated the same process.

Note, she does run away when she is at about 10% health, just like the other trolls in the area... so if you don't get her fast you might have a few extra mobs to fight.

Once you get the key, you go get sharp beak by exiting the arena and staying on the top level of the temple and going through the cave with two lvl 50 guards by 53, 66.

Note there are no guards or mobs in with sharpbeak, and I was able to stealth past the guards and open his cage with no issue.

PS. you will want to stay for a few moments for sharp beak to 'chirps a goodbye to...' because you get to see something kinda cute. ;)

Fighting Hexx can be annoying, but i soloed as a 47 rogue by continually tapping kick as i came out of frogdom and fighting for a few seconds before i fought again.... rinse and repeat.

While this quest may look very menacing, in reality it is not that hard. Make your way up to the top of Jinth'Alor. The mobs are only levels 46-49 so if you can get this quest you should be able to take the mobs out easily. Once you reach the top I suggest killing the wolf right below the altar [[This step is extremely recommended for stealthers as if you die it gives you a safe spot to res and eat]] and also killing the guard on the right of her. If you have bleeds or dots I'd suggest using them. Managed to solo her on a 46 Feral Druid after a few deaths of not pulling the wolf // guard.

The first thing I want to point out is that while it may be nice to be able to get the ZF mallet made while you are here...
It seems unlikely that people will intentionally blow off half of ZF to come back here for the mallet just because later quests bring them here anyway.
***THE 4TH QUEST IN THE CHAIN PUTS YOU MORE THAN HALF WAY THROUGH THE INSTANCE***

It is a much better course of events to get help from some friends (or any high level character) when doing the prequest
https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2989 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2989
and go over & make your ZF mallet then.
then later when you have completed
https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2991 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2991
https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2992 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2992
and have obtained
https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2993 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2993
check your log for
https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=3661 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=3661
and
https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=4787 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=4787

If you get those quests (Hopefully you did the prequests to the Ancient Egg since 1 of them is also in ZF) before heading to the Hinterlands you can make the most of the EXP gains from doing a few quests in the area at the same time.

As for fighting the priestess... classes like rogues who can stun 3-4 different ways and interupt spells (with kick) should be able to take her out with little to no trouble if they kill the adds before going for her. Everyone else has to think carefully about the attack plan. Maybe a mage would hit hard with a 3sec cast spell then an instant cast or 2, followed by a well timed counterspell. Hunters have pets for a reason (use Omen so you don't steal agro) and Viper Sting is always a good 1st attack against mana using mobs. Shamans have Earth Shock for both good damage & spell interuption, Searing Totem, Healing (or mana) Totems, Grace of Air, Gift of Naru(just b4 first attack) and treat it like a tank & spank. I haven't gotten my other toons high enough to give more advice for other classes, but I am sure there are tricks & each can put to their advantage with a little planning ahead.

***Please note that every toon I have used for this has been level 46 or below and done solo; because after you have the mallet few people feel compelled to help get through this temple for other quests.***

I just got this quest, lvl 48 Rogue, and then I though to myself, hey lets try this and get that Pants. :D
This quest is logically possible to solo this quest for a Rogue that 48, because of the stealth, but the only problem that i faced was that SHE HEX Everytime you become un-hex.......
I mean, I got her life to 20%, then she hexed me. and healed. I was not !@#$ed cause that happens. I just kill her after that. But No, She just hexes me and shadow word......... froggy again.
This quest is not a solo quest, even after the patch, which made them non-elites, to any class except for hunters and warlocks. cause they have pets. and shamans, with the Grounding totem.
Just find someone and do this quest. good luck.

Just notice that lvl 49 did this by himself. I guess i didnt stun lock him enough to kill her. :P

I solo'd this as 49 draenei priest, i started off by killing my way up, but its alot easy to just run up there on mount, and hope that they all leave you alone, ahah.
The boss is surrounded, to a minor degree, by 50's, but you can dodge them easiallly,
she goes into a cave at the back of the ""arena"" every now and then, when shes far enough away form the gurads, pull her to one side of the sacrificial circle, so the 48 lying down doesn't pull.
She's a pretty annoying boss, kileld me once, i ddint check my mana befor ei picked a fight with here, all she does is hex, minor debuff, and heal her self and then concuss and smack you when your hex'd, it gets really anonying, chances are the moment you come out of the hex, she'll do it again. I would say that if your anywhere lower than 46/7 you should get in a group :}

i'm currently doing this quest on my 48 night elf. yes mounting your way up there is the easiest way, especially with a night elf for if you get to many mobs i recommend shadowmelding, waiting for it to cool down, then continuing untill you need to do the same again, i currently however am getting royally pwned each time i fight hexx for the polymorphing isn't giving me quite enough time to finish her off.

Very easy as a 48 feral drood. Mount all the way up, shadowmeld if u cant find a palce to leave combat, cat, prowl, and kill like any other mob. She could only heal once.

Should you be a Human Warrior, fear not. You can simply use the racial to get out of Polymorph. I killed Hexx as a L49 Arms Warrior. If you Charge her first and get a Mortal Strike off, things will be much easier. Generally, she'll Polymorph you about 4-5 seconds into the fight. If you do things right, you should be able to Rend, Mortal Strike, and Overpower her. Doing so will get her to almost 25%. Racial your way out of the Polymorph and slap Berserker Rage on just in case. Hexx will be smooth sailing by then.

Solod as a level 43 enhancement shaman. I basically just got on my epic G mount and ran up as far as I could before dying then just did it again. I used my Mechanical Greench from the Christmas presents in Ironforge to dish out a few level 51s, including Hexx. I made my Mallet of ZF while I was there, then I just ran out the side, past the cave, and into that little waterfall by the edge of the cliff. Using my expert wall climbing skills, I scaled the cliffs to where I was above the cleft where Sharpbeak was. Making sure that the fall wasn't too much to kill me, I jumped down, freed Sharpbeak, then hearthed out of that Hellhole. Pretty cool imo.
