Description

War rages both home and abroad. While mighty Dwarven soldiers give their lives in far off territories in the name of the Alliance, our own lands fall prey to the evil deeds of the Dark Iron Dwarves. They laid waste to the Thandol Span. Dun Modr fell soon after.

We need you to gather force and push the front back. If you can kill 10 Dark Iron Dwarves, 5 Tunnelers, 5 Saboteurs and 5 Demolitionists, the reserve might arrive in time to finish the drive.

Now make haste!

Reward

Also, you get: 25

Progress

Roggo has been unable to contact the reserve forces. We need offensive pressure on that Dark Iron encampment, <class>. Now get back out there and serve your duty to King Magni!

Completion

You upheld your orders well, <class>. You have proven yourself to be a valiant soldier and loyal servant to King Magni and for that I salute you! With the pressure you applied to the Dark Iron encampment, we now stand a chance of driving them off our lands for good. . .if only the damned reserve would show. . . .

This is one of those ""WTF?!"" quests, not so much for its degree of difficulty, but because it is a prerequisite for a quest in a lower level dungeon. Before you can pick up ""The Fury Runs Deep"", which is to kill the level 25 https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=1666"">(NPC #1666) in https://vanillawowdb.com/?zone=717"">The Stockade, you have to kill thirty level 27-31 Dark Iron dwarves in northern Wetlands. By comparison, the similar quests to kill quest=386"">Targorr and quest=377"">Dextren Ward have no prerequisites at all.

These can also be found in another encampment - Direforge Hill. The mobs are much more manageable. Coords are 63.30 (southeast of Dun Modr, along the hills). I did not run across any elite mobs in this area. I'm not sure if this encampment is new as of 2.3.

This quest is still a pain in the ass post 2.3, at least if you solo it. You may get stuck needing 3 demolitionists and in the process clearing dozens of tightly packed (and still noticably dangerous) other dorfs that you don't need, will have to PRAY that demos spawn in each little nook and cranny. Unless you're a lock with Eye of Kilrogg you can't really see what's ahead in most of the buildings without pulling it. Escape can be tough once you've cleared your way in and the respawns outside the gates are back up.

Just don't get bold thinking the 2.3 nerf is enough to solo this. Bringing a friend is advisable.

I solo'd it in probably 45 minutes as a 29 warrior. At 61.5, 28.8, you'll find the camp with Balgaras, which is surrounded by all four of the types of Dark Irons you need to kill, easily pullable without aggroing the others. Seemed a lot easier than what the other comments here said.

couldnt solo with mage. wish i would have looked up the quest before fighting at dun modr. later found out about direforge. demolitionists and sabotagers are nasty with sapper explode and bombs. was helping out a level 28 at level 30 and tried frost nova and blizzard and got a little too close to sabotagers... i died from full from all the sapper explodes.

It was a pain in the ass when I picked it up as a 29 shammy. I couldn't do it. So I dropped it and picked it up once I was level 31. It's a lot easier now.

This quest is realy hard, but doable. I solo'd it as a level 25 hunter, except for the last two Demolitionists which I had a 33 warr help me with. This quest is rlly hard and I spent an hour on it. I went to the other place than Dun Modr, and it was easier, but not by much. They were still really densely packed. You could pick off lone ones, but Demos were always packed in tight, never wandering outside the camps.

Has to be the single most annoying quest EVER. I found Balgaras in the far right camp on Direforge Hill.

I would recommend doing the quest at Direforge rather than in Dun Modr as the pulls are MUCH easier.

At like 5% health the Saboteurs will light their dynamite. Quite hilarious but it does a fair amount of damage. The Demolitionist will also throw bombs at you.

Have fun.

Just did this ANNOYING CRAPPY quest as my level 27 Night elf Warrior. The things that are annoying are indeed the levels of the mobs, but more importantly, finding the Dark Iron Demolitionist's.They seem to only spawn in once place. At least I won't have to do it again and can do all the Stockades quests at the same time.
