First, we need to get this powder to Ironband. It'll be a lot for me to carry, and these parts can get dangerous -- and who knows what else the Dark Irons might have in store for me.

This quest failed 3 times for me with Miran de-spawning soon after making a beeline for the camp. I finally saw the ambushers spawn far away to the east. the next time when Miran took off north I went to the start of the path through the mountains to the northeast, they spawned, I killed them and turned in the quest.

If you completed this quest before 4.0.3a, its completion passed over into 4.0.3a for some reason, along with all of the silithis quests.

If you're a little over powered for this quest, let Huldar take a couple of hits from the traitor Saean before you wail on him, otherwise you might kill him too fast for the quest objective to complete. If you happen to bug it, and you end up standing there after Saean is dead for a good 30 seconds or so, abandon the quest and wait for the guys to repop, then get the quest again (no need to run back to town) and then do it with the aforementioned tip, then finish Saean off. It should finish normally then and you'll be prompted to run off to the next camp.

As Atholyn said, I was overpowered (at level 20...) Killed Saean too soon and ""failed"" the quest. I abandon it, take it again and wait a bit before killed Saean, and it worked just fine.

I tried twice and after killing Saean there were no more attacks. Then I left to do something else and after a little while was told I failed. I abandoned it, then tried what was suggested here -- give Saean a little more time to live. When he showed up I attacked the other Dark Iron guy first, then Saean, and as soon as Saean was dead Huldar gave me the next step.

QUEST FAILURE POSSIBILITY

Do not kill Saean too quickly. The quest may not advance properly (see other posted comments for confirmation). Consider white attacks only for Saean.

For people leveling in a party (group), there is an additional advisory:

If you are in a party (group), it may be best to have each member accept and complete this quest in sequence before traveling to the excavation site for turn in. Please DO NOT give the active questing party (group) member help with killing Saean as it will overkill the mob too fast for quest completion credit. The group members CAN kill the Dark Iron mobs that precede and accompany Saean.

If you are standing around for more than 30 seconds after Saean is killed without the quest advancing there is a strong possibility that he was killed too fast; abandon the quest and try again.
