An Unwelcome Guest

Martie Jainrose of Lakeshire wants you to kill Bellygrub. Bring her his tusk as proof.
Bellygrub's Tusk

Description

Once again my garden was trampled and pillaged. And I know the brute who is doing it. It's that forsaken boar, the one Marshal Marris has taken to calling Bellygrub.

I won't be able to re-plant the daffodils until next season now. Ruined! All ruined by that one menacing boar. Put an end to that pest! Show me his tusk and I'd be happy to reward you. He seems to spend his time foraging in the field southwest of Lakeshire but occasionally he roams over here and into my garden.

Reward

You will receive:
Bouquet of Scarlet Begonias
Also, you get: 17

Progress

Is Bellygrub still at it or were you able to rid Lakeshire of the pest once and for all?

Completion

Finally the menace is laid to rest! Thank you, <name>, you have done me a great service. The garden shall be in full bloom this season!

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 195 experience (11 70 at max. level)
  • 250 Reputation with Stormwind

Bellygrub hits hard!!! if you can look for others in the area to do this quest with... She's a lvl 24. Sure the reward isnt much to look at but hey its yet another easy Bliz quest... Pretty tough solo unless your well above lvl 24... She's located just behind the garden where you get the flowers for the other quest here...Re-spawn time is roughly 3-5 min just in case you come in on others doing the quest...

Word of advice to hunters: tame Bellygrub, he makes an awesome pet, for MM at least and probably other specs as well.

When leveling a marksman spec hunter it's extremely important for your pet to hold aggro from your ranged DPS; if your pet loses aggro, fights can go from 'afkshot for a few seconds, then loot' to 'sacrifice pet just to get away alive' very quickly.

Boars are the only pets in the game at the moment with Charge, which makes the pet rush toward the target, immobilizing it for a quick second. Charge also increases the pet's attack power for the next attack by a lot, and given the way Growl works, the boar will typically charge the enemy, taunt, and instantly have around 1k-1.5k threat - basically, you wouldn't be able in most cases to pull aggro off of your pet from then on before the enemy dies.

Boars can also learn Gore, which is an instant, zero-cooldown focus ability that does damage (also known as a focus dump) that will make talents like Go for the Throat well worth getting. They can also get Bite (a 10-sec cooldown damage ability) and Dash (which shares a cooldown with Charge, so it's not that great). They also have decent health and armor.

Once you've got decent ranged damage, all you really need to watch for is the occasional resist on the first taunt and the mobs around you and your pet.

Bellygrub comes with Charge and Gore automatically, and you won't be able to get another rank of either until around level 50. Learn Bite from a spider in Arathi Highlands around level 32 and you're set for a long time...

it is worth making this quest, the ""pig"" is strong and hits hard but bouquet you get is real cool and for the peoples who play on RPG servers this item may come into use in the future.
Youst look out so you have enoth mana and HP when you starts the fight if you ar under the recomende level, or this fight can be impossible!

Playing as a level 22 fire mage, I didn't have any problems killing bellygrub. I needed one healing potion, but that was it, and that's hardly uncommon.

Just solo'd him on my 18 prot pally. had to use food buffs and a mana potion and thunderbrew lager. other than that it was between seals and judgements and about a 5 minute fight.

This is not hard!

If you are a retri pally you can solo it easy, I was level 19 when i soloed it,

No bubble, only 4 heals were needed. just use seal of light as many as you can.

Try it! no need to find any other person and wait till he comes :P

As a druid, this one is easily soloable: Just cast entangling roots and 2 starfire in succession until bellygrub is finished.

Solo'd on my 19 Hunter. Made sure Serpent Sting was refreshed, used Mend Pet only once, and spaced out Arcane Shot to avoid causing too much threat. Wasn't a very tough battle at all.

Soloed as a 18 fury warrior with 4 heirlooms. First try failed miserably. Second try I got my shield on and immediately went defensive stance, popped shield block, spammed revenge. Kept Rend up as best I could. Thunder clapped for the attack speed debuff up, and used a bag of marbles (quest reward, 25% hit debuff on the pig). Used an elixir of minor accuracy and a Healing Potion. Ended with 80 hp.

If I had ONE MORE HERBALISM SKILL this would have been cake with the 300 health heal from lifeblood

Soloed as a resto shammy level 23. Very easy. Just pop down totems,, no specific ones, but searing totem. Use fire nova while shooting him with lightning bolts. Then use frost shock. If need be, use a healing wave. Pretty easy
