This quest is quite simple, but you must remember, after picking up this quest, STAY NEAR HIM. He creates the torch within a minute, and will send a message saying ""Please be patient, <name>"" Some people walk away because they don't realize it's a waiting game.

After he's all done, pick up The Torch of Retribution part two.

Ok, I am a lunkhead. I turned the quest in while mounted on my horse. When nothing happened, meaning I didn't recieve the torch, I tuned in to wowhead. Now I find out that I should not been mounted when turning in the quest. What now? Am I able to redo the quest, or am I screwed?

oh, never mind. I have to abandon the quest and start all over. Arrrrrgggghhhhh!

To enter 'The Slag Pit' their is a shaft to drop down at 35.5, 40.0. Or, if you're feeling lucky, you can cut out an awful lot of work & jump down the cliff at 48.9, 44.3 onto what looks like an iron arch. This is just above the final cave entrance.
