My friend Hilary lost her necklace, and we can't find it. We've been fishing all day right here, and we looked around here already. The only thing I can think of is that it fell into the lake. Our parents don't want us to swim in the lake... my mom says there's some mean things underwater, but you look like you aren't scared of mean things.

Could you find it for her, please?

The Horde can complete this quest also, although it is next to impossible to do it at the correct level because the gaurds will kill you.

I did this quest on my 60 warlock like 4 months ago, I had to kill one gaurd then talk to the boy, obtain the quest, then jumped into the water to find it.

Easy quest to miss if your a horde char. trying to complete every quest in the game.

a nice q you get 1350ex. and you need 2 min to do it the necklace can be found at 30.54

I found it at 24, 54. If you are having trouble finding it just follow all of the coords that have been posted thus far, and you are bound to come across it. It changes positions but it seems like it basically stays in the radius of the two kids.

I did this quest as a Level 20 Horde shaman. No problem at all avoiding the guards, just watch their patrol area and run to the boy at the right moment. Very fun to see alliance kids don't care whether you're horde or alliance :P

The mud is said to be glinting but it does not sparkle like a corpse after it is killed - it is just called glinting mud - so don't be confused about that.

Assuming you're Alliance, I recommend doing https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=125"">(Quest #125) at the same time as this one. Neither require fighting, and the quest items for both are recovered from objects on the lake's floor. You might also want to do https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=150"">(Quest #150) if you're high enough level.

Glad to see this kittyspeaking young lady and her friend are sympathetic to the Horde.
For a hordie doing this quest, levitation comes in handy. You can stay in the water the whole time and run right below the children to get and return the quest.

This quest needs 2 improvements for a horde char.
1. it should still give Stormwind rep
2. it should be repeatable.

How epic would it be to have a horde char who's exalted at Stormwind :)

I have been swimming around this lake for ages now on my 80 undead lock.

Some little bastard kid has been gallavanting around with my necklace and dropped it at the bottom of a @#%ing lake.

After reading the comments before me, I guess I'm really lucky. After accepting the quest, and walking off the docks into the water, it was literally right below me. (Although some comments mention it does not glimmer/sparkle like some quest items do, it did for me..... It might be the graphics settings. I'm running everything on ultra, but did not take the time to change video settings to verify this.)

In all this quest took myself around 10-15 seconds to complete. Most of this time was spent swimming back to shore. I hope some of this luck rubs off on whoever reads this.
