Morrowgrain to Darnassus

Progress

The Arch Druid is always looking for additional morrowgrain for the Cenarion Circle's continued research. We take them in increments of ten, and award you with a cache of goods you should find useful. When you have ten, let me know and I will reward you accordingly.

Morrowgrain (10)

Reward

You will receive:
Cenarion Circle Cache

Completion

Excellent - this morrowgrain will no doubt please the Arch Druid. I must admit though... just being near them makes me feel a little uncomfortable. I can only imagine how difficult it is for the Arch Druid to tolerate them in such large numbers!

This is for you, <name>. The Cenarion Circle thanks you for your continued support.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 55 experience (3 30 at max. level)
  • 75 Reputation with Darnassus

The reason it is repeatable is because if your not a NE then you can do this quest over and over and over and over and over and over (you get the idea) again to get exalted status with Darnassus so you can get a sabre. There ya go!

Based on drop rates and reagents needed..

for Revered to Exalted you need 21000 rep
21000 / 75 = 280 turn-ins
280 turn-ins = 2800 Morrowgrain

Morrowgrain drops approx 37.9% of the time according to wowhead stats, but drops 1 - 5 morrowgrain each time it does.
at 2.5 morrowgrain per drop, 37.9% of the time - you will need roughly 425 Evergreen Herb Casings.

Casings are made from 2x Un'Goro Soil and 1x Packet of Tharlendris Seeds, so this means 850 soil and 425 seeds.
The seeds are sold by a vendor in Darnassus for 10s each (is this affected by rep?) therefore the seeds will cost you 42.5g

Un'Goro Soil drops most in Un'Goro Crater from the Gorishi bug things, roughly 1/3 of the time, maybe a bit more. This means you will need to kill around 2500 of these mobs to get your soil, assuming you don't pick any soil up from the ground. If anyone can estimate how long you'd be killing mobs to get that done and how often you'd come across a pile of soil that'd be wonderful.

Last on the list is the 10 minute cooldown on cultivate seeds, this means that once you have spent your 42.5g to buy packets of seeds, and killed your 2500 Gorishi mobs to collect 850 bits of soil, you need to spend 70 hours and 50 minutes cultivating them. I suggest you do it while you grind tbh.

You can also hand in morrowgrain to this quest in Feralas , https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=3792 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=3792 , if you are lucky enough to generate 20+ morrowgrain

Why would you assume that you're NOT getting Un'Goro soil from the ground? I've only got 5 soils from drops, but I gathered nearly 50 from just running around doing other quests. This is one of those quests you do while doing other things in Un'Goro. You can also use the pouch in locations other than Un'Goro, as long as you have the soil. (I got marrowgrain in the Exodar.) And you get free seeds from the Feathermoon side of the quest, so you can go between the two, build rep, and only spend money while moving between other quests.

I find myself quite disappointed with this quest and the previous one. While I appreciate the reduction in the cool down time it appears that being an herbalist has no bearing on how often you get Morrowgrain, as I exprienced about the same results with a character that was an herbalist and one that was not. Add to that the fact that they dropped the random herb and left it with the only the useless greys if you don't get Morrowgrain. Out of 26 pods, 14 were flops, less then a 50% success rate and that was with an herbalist!

Bring back the random herbs! At least they made it more worthwhile.

on a side note, i've noticed that the more times you turn in these quests the more stuff you get in the cache. Im up to 10 different items: Altera Swiss x2, Arcane Elixir, Elixir of Demonslaying, Greater Mana Potion, Lesser Stoneshield Potion, Wildvine Potion, Fine Aged Cheddar x7, Morning Glory Dew x3, Scroll of Spirit III, and Scroll of Strength III
