Description

You have uncovered a mangled journal. Parts of it remain legible, with a Williden Marshal claiming ownership over the contents therein. If the journal is accurate, then Williden may be found somewhere in the northern part of the Crater; according to the journal, he and his companions sought higher ground from the savage beasts of the Crater once their base camps were overrun.

Return too Williden Marshal 43,7 Directly North in the middle of Un Goro Crater up on the north wall. This is north of the middle of the Tar pits.

He is located in an area called ""Marshal's Refuge"", which is a neutral area and flight point as well.

Sheesh already!! If you pick this manual up early in your ventures, be sure to drop it off as soon as you can. This thing dropped as loot in almost every-other kill I made! As soon as I completed the quest, it stopped spawning as loot.

As of patch 2.3, once you accept the quest from the journal, it stops spawning, you don't need to complete it first.

If you still have the https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=11116 Mangled Journal post Cataclysm, the quest can still be turned in as of patch 4.1
Wait until you in Un'Goro before taking the quest, it will reset when zoning.

This quest was marked obsolete by Blizzard and cannot be obtained or completed. *NOT?*

As of Patch 5.0.4 Marshall's Refuge in Un'Goro Crater is deserted, but for a bunch of wandering Stone Guardians, and a daily quest to bring Bloodpetal Sprouts to the grave of Dadanga, "" sturdy mount and trusted friend."" The turn-in designator still shows, so I fought my way across Un'goro and searched my way thru the crystal cavern to find nobody to accept the mangled journal. It is now truely junk.

Edit: Williden Marshal lives! Seems that Williden and his party bugged out and have made their way back to Marshal's Stand (55,62) and was thrilled to have his Mangled Journal returned. Strange that the in-game turn-in designator was still showing at Marshal's Refuge. So be careful not to toss the joural and abandon the quest prematurely .. glad I didn't.
