Progress

The Pylon table allows you to combine blue power crystals with yellow power crystals.

According to J.D.'s manual, this combination can be used to create a shield that does damage to enemies.

Completion

Arranging the crystals on the table, you carefully align the colors. As you push the last one into place, a burst of light fuses the crystals together.

The resulting combination is now yours.

Complete this quest at the Eastern Pylon in Un'Goro, located at (77, 49).

At the time I was in Un'Goro I did the basic crystal spire chains and never looked back. If you have room in your bank I reccomend saving some of these for later on. When you are trying to reach endgame and you are going through BRD you will gain the other BoP items needed to make:

The pylon quests do not reward progress on the Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms achievement.

However, completing any of the six pylon quests will grant you six quests towards your overall quest completion achievements. You need only turn in one pylon quest, which will give you credit for all six. Repeating or completing the other pylon quests will not give you further quest credits.

Please note that Add-ons (Such as EveryQuest) and the Wowhead Profiler do not count this quest as completed even if you have done it. This is because it is one of the ~Pick up and hand in with one click~ style quests, or one of the special repeatables which are scattered around the world which don't actually seem to treat themselves as real repeatables. Even if you query the blizzard servers for your completed quests, this quest registers as incomplete.

Maybe this will change in future, but is valid as of the posting date.
