You've got to help me, <name>! My friend, Ringo left earlier to explore the volcano to the south of here, and he has been gone way too long. I am really worried about him.

Do you think you could find him? Why don't you take my canteen with you -- if you do find Ringo, I'm sure he'll need it!

Ringo can be found initially in a small cave on Fire Plume Ridge at location 51, 50 to complete the quest to ""find"" him. Once you find him, he'll give you a new quest ""A Little Help From My Friends"" and you escort him back to Marshal's Refuge.

The escort part isn't tough because you lead Ringo, and so you can avoid mobs on your walk back (and you have like 25 minutes to do it.) You have a little canteen of water in your inventory that you were given from Spraggle when you were sent out to find Ringo, called ""Spraggle's Canteen""- watch for Ringo to say things like ""Ugghhh"" or ""I'm feeling faint"" ... those are indications that he is about to faint, and will need to be revived with the water from the little canteen in order to proceed.

I put the canteen in an empty slot in my hotbar for the duration of this quest. I kept Ringo targeted; when he faints, you lose him as a target, so even if I missed his cues like ""uggh ... the heat, it's getting to me..."", as soon as I noticed I'd lost him as a target I knew I needed to revive him. Simply click the canteen in order to give him some water and revive him.

Easy as pie :)

edit: It's a year and a half later or so, and I thought I'd add a few notes, seeing as how I'm doing this now on my Horde character. First of all, thanks for the + rates :) I'm glad my comments have helped! Second, thank you for clarifying that he is in the cave on the map and NOT on the top level of Fire Plume Ridge, StringAnomaly :) Also, thirdly, thank you for pointing out that you don't have to have Ringo targeted for the canteen to work, Cinosh! I only had him targeted because when he faints, you lose him as a target and so it sometimes helps you notice when he faints in case you miss his spoken cues :) I've edited the text a little to make that clearer. I appreciate it!

And now, my edits... the exact coordinates of the south eastern slope on Fire Plume Ridge where I went up are 55.26, 49.86. If you go up the SE slope there, you'll encounter one Scorching Elemental mob between you and the cave. Once up the slope at 54, 50 you can easily see the mouth of the cave where you'll find Ringo. Grab him and head back down the same way you came up!

Good luck!

Another pop culture reference by Blizzard.

Ringo was the drummer of the Beatles, and ""Little Help from my Friends"" is a Beatles song off the album Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Rock on :)

Just found out that if someone takes this quest and logs out while he is passed out en route to Marshall's Refuge, it WILL bug him from time to time and he won't reset. I've been in Un'Goro for about 4 hours and the entire time he's been lying ""dead"" in Marshall's Refuge.

Currently it looks like, at least on some servers, this quest will get stuck and not be completable until the next server reset. When this happens, Ringo just sits next to Spraggle Frock--he doesn't respawn at the cave. If Ringo is just sitting next to Spraggle and never disappears, you probably shouldn't bother accepting the quest unless the server is about to reset--he won't be in the cave and he won't respawn as long as he's hanging out elsewhere.

for those of us who are better at visual orientation in the game instead of just coords (don't get me wrong... coords are *awesome*... but when it comes to vertically varied turf, coords can be a bit misleading) so, i can provide a brief explanation of the road to Ringo...
-get on the eastern side of the volcano (coords mentioned above work well)
-locate the 'lava river'... looks red on the gray ground, but doesn't give out damage, lol. this 'lava river' is not at the same location on the world map version as it is on your mini-map... the mini-map is more accurate.
-there should be one mob there, fire elemental of some sort, lvl 54/55-ish
-killulate said mob
-immediately to the left (south) of that mob's location, there is a black-ish path on the gray ground, going up onto the hillish area.
-follow the black path up to a plateau where you will have to kill one more fire elemental
-the cave is on the right (north), just after that mob.
i was able to finish this quest with no issues, as it does NOT seem to be bugged on Muradin server.
hope this helps!

Just confirmed on Dath'Remar that if Ringo is standing next to Spraggle and refuses to despawn, abandon the quest (if you have it) and Ringo will depawn from Marshal's Refuge back to the cave in Fire Plume Ridge. You can then pick up the quest from Spraggle again and head back to the cave to start the escort. Unless someone beats you to it.

After watching Ringo for about 5 minutes I abandoned it in Spraggle's presence and watched Ringo disappear.

I was waiting for him to respawn.. Reading these comments, actually, and he didn't show. However, so many people said stuff like ""after killing the two mobs"" etc. So, I went out, killed the first 3 Scorching elementals I saw, and immediately after the third one died(one that was directly in front of the cave opening) the question mark popped up and I could escort him. I don't know if it was just good timing, but it may be worth a shot to kill all the mobs around the cave mouth first.

Just tried it today and it is still bugged.
Ringo is next to Spraggle Frock, and stays there even if you drop quest.
Ran into another player trying the quest, and it didn't work for him either.

I just found Ringo in the cave today.
However, I did have to wait almost ten minutes for a Horde player to finish the escort before Ringo respawned.
I was able to get the follow up ""A Little Help From My Friends"".
So good news..... it is NOT bugged nor has it been removed as of 11/19/10.

UPDATE ...

I just did the quest so its NOT obsolete (or Blizzard fixed/changed it somehow).

The quest now ends with clicking a sack right outside the cave. There you will get the follow up ""https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=24735/a-little-help-from-my-friends A Little Help from my Friends"". This quest tells you to interact with Ringo inside.
