Murkdeep can be found at 36, 76 (https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=10323 https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=10323) on the shore, surrounded by Murloc hunters, warriors, and coastrunners in a small camp.

Soloed as a lvl 18 druid. Very easy. Murkdeeps spawn when you kill 3 groups of murlocs in 36.76. First there are hunters and warriors murlocs then 3 coastrunner on very low lvl then a small group of hunter or something. After that murkdeep spawn with one guard.

[Shaman 15]

For those of you that do not know, advice from hunters should only be tried by hunters (and maybe warlocks). For a very long time now, hunters have been known as the ""solo class"" because they really have two players: the hunter and a meat shield (pet).

Note This!! - Any time a hunter says it can be done and you are not a hunter, it is a totaly different game.

This said, I did complete the quest as a level 15 Shaman. Here's how..

As said above, pulling the mobs in singles or smaller groups is correct. The problem is when facing Murkdeep. Several quests in the game will require you to kill a ""named"" NPC and he/she will almost always have ""bodyguards"". This one is no exception. A hunter above states ""easy to solo lvl 12hunter LOL kiting ftw :D"" and he's full of it. Post the video friend. I would bet he completed the quest in the same way or very similar to the other hunters, sending in pet on a few pulled mobs and letting his ""meat shield"" take the damage. Kiting is not easy and with the new daze mechanics, I would bet all my gold that he did not ""kite"" the mobs (probably doesen't know what kiting is).

If you have any ranged abilities, start off with those on Murkdeep. I used Lightning after placing a Stoneclaw totem about half way in my cast range. Draenei have a racial HoT (heal over time) that I used after a nice big Nuke on the Murkdeep and I plop a Fire Nova and after plop a Flamtoung. At this point I was at a bit more than half health, my HoT was gone and the bodyguards were about to rush me. I self heal to fill my bar.

Murkdeep is now at 1/4th health, but it's not over yet. I've not done any damage to the guards, so new totems would be toast and Claw tot is on cooldown. I don't have much mana, so I Flame shock, recharge my shield and plop a Stoneskin. The entire time I'm backing up to make distance between me and the guards, I had to be careful not to evade the mobs (another reason kiting is hard here), but being on the brink of evading mobs can be a good thing. A final Earth Shock kills Murkdeep, I now have only 14% health and the guards are wicked pissed. I drop my Earthbind and turn-tail, running further away from the mobs origional spawn point. Sure enough, they evade.

I run up to the corpse of Murkdeep, grab my loot and eat/drink atop his fallen body. Success!

Good Luck and Death to Murkdeep!

As a rogue, pretty much not soloable while the quest is yellow. Was cake with a similar level warrior. Tip of the day: make sure you have something to counter runners - either direct damage ranged to finish them quick, DoTs, or slows. Otherwise any of them will probably bring friends when the invitation was only for one.

[18 Rogue]

I started clearing the area, but I must have aggroed the guard (a Warrior) because Murkdeep came after me. I killed the Warrior, then Gouged him so I could use a Wool Bandage. I used Sinister Strike and Eviscerate on him from there, and he died right when I got the ""Low Health"" message.

So if you're lucky, you'll find Murkdeep already there, and I think he only had 1 guard. If you die, he'll probably just stay there, and it doesn't look like his guards respawn.

[18 Priest]

- Cleared the area around the buildings without walking near the bonfire.
- Walked near bonfire and 3 coastrunners (lvl 13) spawned running in from the water, killed them.
2 warriors (lvl 15 I think, can't remember) spawned. I managed to pull only one and when he died Murkdeep + another warrior spawned. Killed Murkdeep and ran away :)

Some people don't seem to understand how to get Murkdeep to come out. Here is the process I follow when doing the quest that seems to work 100% of the time I do it, so it should work for you.

1) First, clear the camp at 36,70. The camp is occupied by lvl 13-15 Murlocs so it should be fairly easy. Be sure to take notice of the 3 murlocs in the water around the Beached Sea Creature. *The camp must be completely cleared before proceeding*

2) Now you need to clear the 2nd camp at 35,74. After successfully clearing it, 3 Murloc Coastrunners will run out of the ocean but they won't attack you unless you are right in the middle of the camp (So if you are low on mana/health back away and rest). Now kill the Coastrunners. After they are dead 2 Murloc Hunters will run out, clear them out now as well. After the Hunters are dead, Murkdeep (lvl 19 non-elite) will run out with a hunter with him.

Hope this helps some people. Just did the quest myself with a lvl 21 Priest so it was a snap.

Whatever you do, don't do this quest as a level 16 Rogue on your own, all the Murlocs are too close to each other and if your not careful you could end up pulling too many after you. Murkdeep killed and completely ruined my Rogue.

lvl 14 hunter, spider pet.

Died once, cleareing the village. Got 4 on me, but killed the biggest.
As hunter, you learn a thing or two, about picking (pulling) from groups.

Let pet pull Murkdeep from water, but it died shortly after.
By then, he was down to 50% HP

A spearcaster spawned. So I pulled away, and lost it with Murkdeep still on me.
On my move:
Wing clip, 3 feet back. Auto shot. My bow has 2.60s. Attack Speed, so I move or run back for 2.5s. (In this move I use Sting or Slow(CS)). Auto Shot. Move(Arcane Shot). Stop(Auto Shot)
And so on. Move in stepps.

But I did use a health potion of second grade.
Could be done alot easyer I think.

-2 lvl 12 Druids- Res and Bal

Ok while we couldn't take Murkdeep alone our 1st try we did manage to spawn him without dying which was mostly due to respawn within the camp. Got him on the 2nd time around though.

Simple enough if you take your time and have good players. :)

The person above has most of it correct.

Kill off all of the murloc in that 1st camp. After its completely clear three coast runners come from the water, then two warriors, followed by Murkdeep with a hunter bodyguard.

PS. If you see Murkdeep spawned and you didnt do it... dont kill him.... or atleast ask in general if someone is trying. I was watching the camp while the other druid returned from the graveyard and a lingering 21 Shaman and 70 Mage killed him without a word. Thankfully the mage made up for it afterwards by helping us spawn him again though.

I did this quest as a lv 17 priest, it was really easy, almost too easy, i pulled all the murlocs indiviually, got 2 a few times. Then ran in for the waves. First wave was easy since they were green mobs, then the second wave i feared them while killing one (there were only 2 of them), then Murkdeep came with a lvl 17, but i was able to drink and pull Murkdeep by himself, you just have to be careful. :)

Actually I went to the camp, at level 63 trying to get exalted with darnassus for my epic mount. I cleared the camp with one volley shot and the 2 warriors came out of the water along with murkdeep.

I think I figured out the trick to this quest. I killed the whole camp at 36,76. When nothing happened I ran all over killing every murloc I could find. After A while I went back to the camp I started at to see if anything had happened. Nothing Had. So I ran in to the middle of the camp right next to the bonfire and the murclocs ran out of the water and attacked me.

In summary, run into the middle of the camp after you've cleared it to trigger the event. Hope this helps.

Cleared the 2camps (36,70) - (35,74) at least 10times in a row. Only the first wave kept coming.. and then nothing happened until the first mob spawned back in the main camp. If I was standing in that camp when the mob spawned, no new wave was coming. If I was standing outside of the camp, a new wave was coming after I killed that mob and moved back in camp.. but always the same wave (3 coastrunner / warriors). GG blizz!

The camp can be found at 36.76. There you will find a small camp with murlocs, just kill them. When they are dead, more murlocs will appear from the sea. Keep killing them until Murkdeep appears.

Just because I like to add my findings I'll let you know how I found him. I cleared the camp and nothing happened. So I walked around the coast and came back to a full camp once more. After killing about 3 of them and walking into the camp 2 came running out of the water. After I killed them 2 more came out, one being Murkdeep. I'm guessing they fixed it or I just got lucky :3 BTW I'm a Lvl 17 Night Elf Hunter and I didn't die during this Quest, though my pet Nightsaber almost did T.T

i've been tried to complete this, and i've killed several times the mobs in the camp, and in the oder places(like the 2 monster rests to the south and north) and nothing happends. No spawn or a missing murlock swimming, so i don't know if it's going to respawn or not.

Please fix this XD.
