Hidden Enemies

Bring a Lieutenant's Insignia to Thrall in Orgrimmar.
Lieutenant's Insignia

Description

One thing I will not tolerate are traitors in our midst, <name>. But I would be a fool to play my hand so early--it would not sufficiently cut the corruption out of our lands and only cause the infection to grow worse.

But you, a young adventurer, could go places my agents could not... could learn the truth... could find the true head of the beast.

If you are brave enough, then enter Skull Rock to the east of Orgrimmar, find a lieutenant's insignia off one of the Burning Blade there, and return to me.

Reward

Also, you get: 2 50

Progress

Do you have the insignia yet, <name>?

It will be a vital tool in you infiltrating what I believe is the greatest threat to the Horde and us finally finding peace in our new home.

You will learn how intricate a web men and orcs alike can weave when they are motivated by greed and power. The hidden agendas, the corruption, all of it will become clear. You will find yourself in the midst of a war you never knew existed.

Completion

Good, <name>! The spirits be praised, perhaps you are the one who will finally put my greatest fears to rest! Who would suspect someone so young and so brave would rise up and champion our cause? You remind me of myself when I was younger. I will ensure that you are justly rewarded for your efforts if we both survive the coming storm.

But there is time for more praise later. You've not accomplished anything in comparison to what you will face... but this is a good start.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 225 experience (5 40 at max. level)
  • 250 Reputation with Orgrimmar

There's a cave east of Orgrimmar full of Burning Blade. Just start killing and the Insignia will randomly drop off one of the mobs in there.

There is a named mob in the cave called Gazz'uz that drops an Eye of Burning Shadow, which starts a quest. You can find the mob by circling around to the right as you enter the cave. He's a warlock and it's easy to get adds when you fight him.

For those having a hard time finding the cave its location is 55,8 (just east of the zep) and the mobs in the cave range from Level 9-11 (biggest problem is the Burning blade apprentice and the minion) and the ""leader"" (Gazz'uz) mob at the end is Level 14 but the Silver Elite (Felweaver Scorn) is Level 11

I did this quest solo as a lvl 12 Tauren Druid and i got the Insignia from a male Apprentice, Felweaver scorn, wasn't easy at this level

To have a ""heads-up"" on Gazz'uz, circle to the right and up the ramp, through and behind him. Shooters can kill him without being touched. Did it as Mage

Skull Rock is at 55,9 to the east of the Zeppelin Tower. If you follow the south side of the cliff east of the gate of Orgrimmar all the way to the ocean you will find the place easily.

The Lieutenant's Insignia is a random drop from the mobs inside.

Be careful as the mobs can be tough in the cramped conditions.

Finishing this quest is a prerequisite for Hidden Enemies --&gt; https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=5727 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=5727

There is a mob named Gazz'uz which pats up and down the easten section of the cave which may cause adds if accidentally stumbled upon. Gazz'uz drops Eye of Burning Shadow, when you right click on the Eye, you will be offered the quest Burning Shadows --&gt;https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=832 https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=832

I also got the insignia from one of the mobs surrounding Fizzle. I was very pleasantly surprised when it happened.

I highly reccomend doing this chain for 70s looking for orgrimmar reputation, since it gives 1175 reputation total for the entire chain.

FYI, the insignia is not a shared drop if you are in a party.

In the past I've only known about the cave, so that's where I started. After approximately 25 dead, I realize that WoW quest tracker is pointing somewhere else so I check here. Okay, things have apparently changed so off I go to check on the Fizzle camp. After killing Fizzle 10+ times and another 25-30 guards, I give up and go back to the cave where I kill another 20 guards. At this point I'm wondering if something is broken on the quest.

First time I did this quest I picked up the item after 3-5 kills at the cave. Since then I've run perhaps a dozen alts through this quest and have seen a gradual decrease in droprate (at the cave). Now I'm seeing none after nearly 50 dead at the cave and another 25+ dead at Fizzle's camp. If you don't have a lot of patience, you may want to seriously consider skipping this quest!

After re-re-re-reading the wowhead posts I finally figured out there is another cave (55,8) as compared to the cave I used to use for the quest (roughly 48,21). So off I go to the other cave and pick up the item after just 4 kills.

Ignore the Fizzle WoW quest tracker and make certain you go to the cave at 55,8. Otherwise you'll do like me and waste nearly 2 hours!

When accepting this quest, an objective marker will appear over Thunder Ridge in Durotar. This is not the correct location. Like others have said, the correct location is the cave to the east of Orgrimmar.

This quest is now given by Garrosh, it may change further into Cataclysm.

Very awkward having Garrosh give us this quest. Clearly it's still using Thrall's text, especially with the handing in of the quest. If this quest is only temporary until Cataclysm, that's alright. But it's way too early to see him call us young adventuring lads:

""The spirits be praised, perhaps you are the one who will finally put my greatest fears to rest! Who would suspect someone so young and so brave would rise up and champion our cause?""
