Hameya's Plea

Kill Infiltrator Hameya. Use his key on the Mound of Dirt behind the Undercroft.
Hameya's Key

Description

Kill me. Before it's too late.

I am Hameya. While traveling to Zul'Mashar, my brethren and I ate some bad meat... and we changed. We are infected.

I can feel the lich's words now, urging me to reach Zul'Mashar and infect more of my people. I cannot resist, and so I wrote this scroll before my will left me.

I buried a chest in dirt next to a wagon behind this crypt, but only my key will open it. I have the key. If you want my treasure, then find me.

Kill me. Before it's too late.

Reward

You will receive:
Hameya's Slayer
Hameya's Cloak
Also, you get: 90

Progress

This chest buried here is securely locked.

Completion

Hameya's chest is opened!!

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 660 experience (39 60 at max. level)

You pick up this quest somewhere around Zaeldar the Outcast if I remember.

For this quest you have to ride up to Zul'Mashar. You will easily find the path as it's full of troll scouts, around level 57 mobs. They have some drain life ability, they enrage and it gets harder and harder as you try to reach the top. You will find the mobs hard to kill as the cannibals are level 58-59 so you might as well can kamikaze, stealth or run in and die safely to corpse run. They also call for help so if you think you were safe, think again! You can get hexed, shot at, almost anything.

Inspector Hameya (71,16 or so) is a level 60 Humanoid that patrols around the graveyard - you can easily pull him solo but chances are you will also pull a mossflayer along with him so be careful. He doesn't do a lot of damage so he's fairly easy at level 58.

After you loot the key from him, run back to The Undercroft (28,86) and complete your quest on the mound of dirt in the back of the mausoleum, right next to a broken cart. There you go, rewards are crap but you might want to keep a cloak in case you need some extra arcane resistance!

Hameya walks in circles around a 15 man mob lvl 57-58. I solo'd this quest as a 58 rogue. I waited for him to circle to the edge and get as far away from the group as possible and pulled him with my bow. After that he dies easy as he is not an elite.

Im not sure why its said he doesnt hit very hard. He doesnt, but at the same time he casts a poison DOT and a instant attack that does upwards of 500 damage. Doesnt mean much to anyone wearing mail or plate but definetely a consideration for cloth if you attempt this under level and get resists. Had him to under 5% health when he hit me with the last attack and killed me. :|
Also the infected mossflyers are his creation, or at least the ones he stops, summons and stands around. They eventually die so if you dont have a good shot, wait for a moment itll open.

Inspector Hameya can be found at the N-NE part of Eastern Plaguelands, small path leading up with Mossflayer Scouts and crap guarding. He's walking in a circle at the center of the big open area.

Note:
The Scouts usually runs for help when they aggro.
Some of the mobs use the spell 'Hex' and knockdown, can be a bugger with multiple mobs for a healer.

As a 59 warlock I was able to run past most of the mobs up the hill. I didn't have a scout run for help until I was coming back down, but I just jumped the mountain edge at the top of the path on horse and ran off.

Hameya is a 60 regular and if you kill the two cannibals that roam through the gravesite then pulling him alone is easy as his Infected Mossflayer creations die within a few minutes of him spawning them.

DO NOT ENTER THE GRAVEYARD! If you have the Mosh'aru tablet quest also as I did even with Hameya dead if you run into the graveyard about a dozen Infected spawn and kill you.

If you exclude the Mossflayer Scouts the quest is nothing too hard for a level 56... the reason I say this is because when you aggro the Mossflayer Scout he immediately runs for help, my suggestion is to use anything to slow / stun him right at the beginning of the fight.

For whatever reason, be advised, the aggro zone for me (56 mage) was HUGE. i was aggroing scouts half way up the hill. but they were 1 by 1 admittedly. just be careful really.

This quest is not difficult, simply wait for her to pass by and then knock off the adds one by one, u might get a few extras, but as a demonology lock, just send in ur Felguard.

I soloed this quest as lvl 56 balance druid..... Kinda easy, just need to stealth to the top and then kill Hameya.
You would have to watch out for the scouts wich will run to some other mobs and get help. It can be dangereous as theres mostly 2-3 mobs in each pack. Hameya's walks around the graves just in front of the temple and he wont be hard to find. He doesn't hit very hard and he's as easy as a normal lvl 58-59 mob. Zul' Mashar is placed in the north-eastern corner of Epl.
Easy Quest. Good Luck.

This is actually pretty easy to access, if you do it right.

As stated, a lot of the guys on the way up the path will run for help immediately after you aggro them. So I just rode right past all of them (of course avoiding the ones I could) and let them run for help.

When they run for help, they neglect to even attack you until they get some buddies.

So when I got to the top (the area where Hameya is), they were all way behind me and I had >90% health left. I just took a left turn into the empty area and they de-aggro'd fairly quickly.

Try it out; if you die up there then at the very least you'll be able to rez in a convenient spot.

The above coordinates are correct to a certain extent. The actual path that leads up to him is actually about 64,26. Look for the huts and then follow the path up the hill.

The mobs respawn quickly so bring a friend if you cannot kill things fast.

Best way I found to take him out was to clear the mobs closest to the dirt ""steps"" that lead into the middle area and then wait for him to path to that side.

Ran this one solo with a level 57 MM Hunter, I put a mark on Himeya and sent my cat it, he aggro'd a few, so I ran in , dropped a explosive trap, pulled away and took him out with a combo of Rapid fire, and aimed shot.
Took about 1000 damage, my cat took 1500, but made it out.

I don't know if any other class can do this. But as a level 57 Hunter i managed to pull Infiltrator Hameya from all the other mobs safely, without pulling any other mobs. This was a very good move as i would have had at least 3 other mobs pulled with him if i just shot him.

P.S Any way of slowing him down is good if you have a minuion. Slow him down, then when he gets away from the other mobs, just send your minuion/pet in and let them get agro. Then pwn your heat away. :)

Soloed easily as a 55 Frost Mage. Killed 2 mobs near graveyard 1 at a time with Frostbolt. Then when he came by I Frostbolted him, pulled out Water Elemental, dbl frostbolted and down he went, missed quite a bit since 5 lvl different, but none the less was easy as cake.

Ok so as a lvl 60 Rogue this was quite easy, as I could avoid the mobs coming up the hill but DO NOT PULL HIM NEAR THE GRAVEYARD!

I was successful by standing to the right of the steps and pulling him as he moved away from the graveyard. Pull him over to you with a gun/bow.

He's at about 65,11. The map is misleading, because it makes it look like he is up in the mountains. He is not in the mountains, but down in the valley patrolling in a circle around he graves near the ziggaraut. I soloed it with a 66th level mage, but it took patience to get in there.

Boy, the scouts sure are annoying. As soon as you agro them, they go arunnin' to the closest mobs and bring help. Try and kill them as quickly as you can. Myself, as a shaman, ran up on them and frost shocked 'em, then just prayed I could kill 'em fast enough, lol. GL.

220hp was my best try as a 54 rogue, couldnt grab him from stealth as I'd spawn zombies. Greatest problem, other than the endless parry/miss streaks, was the poison 'dot' he uses, also dealing a smashing 560 instant nature damage.

I spent 10 minutes climbing a mountain because someone said to go to 71, 11. That's VERY inaccurate. 64, 11 was right on the money. If you see the mounds of dirt, he'll probably be patting around that area.

I can't say how easy or hard it was. I can imagine it being a little tough for people to kill him if you get a few adds.

Apparently the new Quest Helper interface option is bugged on this quest. After having retrieved the key from Hameya, it told me to hand the quest in at the Mound of Dirt in The HINTERLANDS(although it did show the correct position on the map)

Did this as a level 56 hunter (beastmastery) with the wrong pet (my cat), but I was too lazy to go change it out.

Even so, I got it done. It was a very tough go due to my level (aggro), and I sometimes picked mobs up 5-8 at a time, which was hell. To make it worse, if you're close to the graves in the middle, they keep repopping - something that took me about 9 mobs too many to figure out.

Luckily, I lived, killed everything, got the dude & the key.

So, yeah - even though they're orange in level to me, this quest was very doable. A little more care & attention on my part, and it would have been done much faster.

After Killing Hameya the quest log says to return to grave in HINTERLAND. it is not in hinterland look at your map, you will see the ? go back to the Mausoleum and go behind it (not down the stairs again).
