Hints of a New Plague?

Find the Forsaken Courier and bring back her Sealed Folder to Quae near the Go'Shek Farm.
Sealed Folder

Description

So, Phin sent you to check on us? Not surprised--he worries too much.

We've been watching the farm for days, and Kin claims she saw a courier come out of that small house to the south not long ago.

She talks a lot, but I can always trust her senses when we're in dangerous areas.

You wouldn't happen to be a skilled tracker, would you? We think the courier might be carrying notes to Tarren Mill. If we could get our hands on those documents, it might shed some light on what's happening in Hillsbrad.

Progress

We appreciate your help in looking for that courier, <name>.

While you were gone, Kin saw an apothecary come out of that same house to the south of here. I'm confident that they're up to no good--I just need proof of it before we go off and do something rash.

Have you had any luck yet?

Completion

Excellent!

Let's see what this is about...

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:

The easiest way to find the courier is to follow the road from Tarren Mill east to Arathi, and continue following it all the way to the farm. That should give the game enough time to spawn the courier if it isn't up, and if it is you'll run into it on your way east. If for some reason you don't find her, she (and her guards) will spawn in the house at the south-west corner of the farm. It's the same one with the apothecary in it.

The courier herself should be easily soloable by any class, it's the guards that are a pain. I solo'd this quest without a problem as a 35 warrior. Bloodrage + charge courier + intimidating shout. YMMV.

Soloed as lvl 36 rogue. A little tougher than doing it as a warrior, due to lower armor. I can kill things 1 or 2 on one, but 5 on one is a little much.

Sap one guard, blind another, start killing courier. Use evasion when the one guard is no longer blind. Probably have to healing-potion in the middle, unless you're twinked out. Kill what you can, then Vanish, as long as the courier is dead. Wait a few secs, and the guards will move down the road back in formation.

Wait until you won't aggro them, and loot the corpse. Done! Not the prettiest solo, but it works.

For those of us on the Alliance side, there are a group of mounted guards that run the same road. They will attack this mob on sight. All I had to do was follow them until they dismounted and make sure I got the the courier and I was able to do this as a 35 mage rather easily.

Did it as 35 Shaman. Earthbind, Healing Stream. Pulled Courier with Lightning Bolt and kept running around the Earthbind totem, frost shocking courier on each cd. When it was dead, i ghost wolfed and waited for guards to reset.

As 35 rogue, just ambush, evasion, all out nuke then vanish. Easy as hell.

As mage, start with a high damage spell, do it til its near, frost nova, max range and fireball/frostbolt again. No need to sheep. When courier is dead, blink away and wait for guards to reset.

Unless you use above advice ofc. But this is just as easy and takes no time at all.

The best way is to wait till they pat in front of Refuge Pointe. The hit the Forsaken Coureier, then kit them to the guards. Did this as a 35 druid.

wow u can bug this and do it at pretty much any level as long as u can kill the apothecary person. If the courier has been killed run to the shack with the apothecary kill her and wait. As soon as the courier respawns right outside the door attack her. When things spawn there is a delay before they become agressive so her guards won't attack u and will start on their patrol without the courier.

I bugged it as a rogue, used Distract on them all and then the Courier started to walk on the side. So it was just to Distract her the next time and kill her without the the guards who did not even care abour her.

Got there just as another player killed the courier at the farm they spawn.
Figured I'd wait on the hill near the Apothecary.. Couldn't take that long to spawn, right?

Wrong...
Took 35 minutes exactly before she spawned with her bodyguards.
What a joke.
Wouldn't advise waiting if you know they just died.

And yes, I was in-game the whole time.

soloed as a level 33 mage. all i did was go from the farm headed toward the mill on my mount so id be faster, and when i saw them at the gate i got off mount and blinked into their midst and frost novaed. then i stood back with a mana shield and kept blizzards casting til the guards died and then a fireball and fire blast finished off the courior.

Did it as a level 38 paladin. Was no problem at all. Though, I was unable to loot the courier. So I ran back to Go'Shek Farm to wait for them to respawn, took 15 minutes. Not 35 as stated in post above.

Personally i was lucky on this quest, i was following the road and saw the alliance guards attacking them so what i did was, run in the middle cast ""Concencrate"" (paladin skill) even tho they were 30% i still got the letter and didnt get hit once :)

I caught up with here just inside the border of Hillsbrad Foothills, so using the guards wasn't an option.
As a 34 priest, I just cast Holy Smite and Holy Fire since I'm talented to increase their distance, put both DoT's (Shadow Word: Pain and Devouring Plague) on, bubbled, and just cast a cpl more spells until she dropped, which was surprisingly easy. Then I dispersed all her friends but one with Psychic Scream, looted, and ran.

31 Shadow Priest. Bubble, blast the courier, fear two of the guards, burn down the courier, and then (probably) die. Come back and loot the courier's corpse.

Soloed easily with 35 Arms Warrior. Just charged the Courier, Demo Shout, Thunder Clap, Sweeping Strikes and kept Overpowering when possible.

NOTE: When the courier and his/her guards enter Tarren Mill they reset back to the farm, I found out this the hard way. Got to the path that leads down to Tarren Mill and seen the Courier but 2 Tarren Deathguard's who patrol that path were just in front of them so I couldn't do anything, then I noticed they disappeared instead of turning around and walking back to the farm.

altho it was 2 1/2 yrs old, I followed Maurices advice except I started at the camp and went west and came up behind them... Using a 38 Warlock, I picked the courier, sent void walker and then did Rain of Fire and surprisingly that did the job for him and the 4 bodyguards. I expected another shot or rain to follow but it dispatched them pretty quick. They are level 35's with courier 36 if I recall.

This quest seems to be temporarily bugged. Every time I killed the courier along with the bodyguards, the corpses would bug and I would be unable to loot (""that would be stealing""). The solution I found was to only kill the courier and then run away until the bodyguards reset without touching them.

I also noticed that the courier is Re-spawning almost immediately. Don't know if this is as a result of the bug or if the bug is the result of Blizzard trying to making the respawn timer shorter.

TLDR: Kill the courier and don't touch the bodyguards :)

I'm currently doing this quest right now and I must say, it's annoying. I'm a lvl 34 Rogue and I've tried doing all the things people have mentioned but so far, to no avail. There is currently four bodyguards surrounding her and you're right, the whole 'divide and conquer' approach does not work. If you sap the courier, they wait by her side until it's done. Sapping one guard, killing them and doing the same with the others doesn't work either. Another re-spawns by the time you get back to the group. I will have to rethink my approach. Hope that helped.

It seems like the courier is no longer a guaranteed spawn at the house on the farm. Earlier today, I came across a group that had just killed the courier between there and Refuge Point. So I turned around and went back to the farm to wait. I waited ten minutes, and saw nothing spawn. Getting impatient, I finally went running along the road where it's supposed to travel. I got all the way into Hillsbrad Foothills and found it just passing Durnholde Keep. Either this is broken, or they've randomized the spawn point or moved it to avoid people camping it.

Played this on my shaman today, and it bugged like crazy. I killed the group once near Tarren Mill, and when I tried to loot the corpses, it said, ""You don't have permission to loot this corpse."" So I gave up and did some other quests, and on my way back to Arathi Highlands, I saw the group again. I killed them AGAIN, and they bugged AGAIN, but this time, I waited to loot the corpses - I ran about 50 yards ahead and then turned around and looted em with no problems.

TL;DR - if they bug and you can't loot the courier or bodyguards, run ahead, wait a minute or two, then turn back and try again. Worked for me just fine.
