Bring the Torn Scroll Fragment, the Crumpled Scroll Fragment and the Singed Scroll Fragment to Theldurin the Lost.

Description

The Scroll of Myzrael...the Scroll of Myzrael?! You don't want that! Its magic can pull Myzrael to the surface world and if you do that, we are in trouble!

Or...maybe it's too late. Maybe she already is free. Maybe she's just gathering strength before unleashing herself upon us. If so, then you'll NEED the scroll!

...too bad it's destroyed. Enraged elementals stole it and tore it up and now fight over the fragments.

But if you can gather those fragments, maybe we can fix it...

Did you find those fragments?!?! You'll need the Scroll of Myzrael if you want to trap her again, before it's too late!

Completion

Ah, you found them! Good work, <name>! These might be the only chance we have against the evil of Myzrael!

Just let me find my scrap-ratchet and see if I can re-attach these fragments...

You can obtain this quest at 37, but the mobs you have to kill are 42-43. Either wait and do this after leveling up a bit, or bring friends. My 39 warrior had trouble taking on just one of the elementals.

Also note that this are of elementals tends to get farmed, probably for elemental earth. Not sure why, as elemental earth is one of the cheapest elements I've seen in the AH. Anyways, you might be competing with farmers on this one.

coords are 53 81 soloed this as a lvl 40 lock
straight forward quest just kill the elementals until u get all 3 quest items

Done at level 39 as a Retri Paladin. Drop rate was 35%.

At this level when they are Orange, make sure you body pull and not spell pull. As soon as u spell hits the mob all mobs within 10 yards will come. If u body pull only mobs 2 yards around the mob will come that will say none :). They can be found around 52,84 in Badlands and are level 42-43.

Their only special ability is to Enrage at 25% so make sure u aint out of mana when they hit 25%. The respawn timer is around 5-7 minutes so make sure u dont clear the way in without getting out. :)

For those who don't have coords- Be certain that you find Enraged Rock Elementals, not just Rock Elementals. If you head East from the questgiver, there's a pocket of Rock Elementals. I spent 45 minutes to an hour and over a thousand arrows killing them, with a 0% drop rate, only to find out that I had to go basically directly above the questgiver. There's a crag in the mountains and Enraged Rock Elementals galore. Got all the pages within five or six kills.

These things hit hard when enraged. I tried it at 40 (shammy, only a couple of pieces of mail) and they started doing 80-100dps when they reached 20%, so if you are low level you want to save your mana/rage until that point and then burst them down.

Edit: drop rate, 100% for the first two scrolls, then I had to kill another 6 or so for the final one.

The area you are looking for is just behind Theldurin, a small hill leads there. The elementals are level 42-43, were not fire immune, thats sure. Take care for the re spawns, i've got surprised a few times there. The next part of the quest is ""Summoning the Princess"" https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=656 . Drop rates were not so good, i got 2 of 3 items in like 8 kills, but had to kill this amount or more to get the third drop. If you have not done ""Badlands Reagent Run"" https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2258 before, than you will be able to get the 5 pieces of Rock Elemental Shards, that you need for the quest.
The quest gives 4600 experience as of 04 July 2008

Got my first scroll fragment (singed scroll fragment) after 4 kills (so 25% for me, i guess i might have gotten lucky). Will keep updated with the drop rate of the other scrolls.

The next fragment (torn scroll fragment) dropped after 8 more kills, so a 12.5% drop rate for that piece.

Thats not strictly true for your drop rate, as it doesn't show, whether the first piece dropped again while you were farming the other 4 mobs, and neither do your calculations take into effect that a mob may be able to drop only 1 fragment rather than all 3 at once.

I've been the only one here for more than 30 minutes. I've killed the same elementals over and over, at least 5-6 times apiece. Not a single fragment has dropped. This is anther really lousy quest. combined with the dragon heart one, Badlands seems to have a few really bad ones hanging around.

I think they changed the drop rates in 3.0.3 - I had to clear the place 2 full times to get all 3 fragments.

This one took me a fair while. The first fragment dropped after I killed about 12 to 14 elementals, the second after I killed about 3 and the last one after another 4 or 5. All in all it took me a good 45 minutes. Soloed as lvl 41 Warrior.

The drop rates are ridiculous. I cleared the area literally four or five times before I got all three scroll fragments. Solo'd as 42 Balance Druid.

This is incorrect. I haven't done that quest and i managed to get all three scrolls. The first kill we got was a scroll, then we had to wait for another 23 kills before we got the last 2 on 1 mob.
The drop rate is low yes, no other things you do will change that. You were probably just lucky.

As a level 39 Shaman, I tried to kill the elementals for this quest, and after killing all of them at least once, had none of the fragments, then returned at level 42, killed one (much more easily), then took on two more, and the first of the two dropped ALL THREE. Thus, the drop rates are indeed ridiculous.

Let me just say. Solo'ing this as a 42 Boomkin? No. It. Was. TERRIBLE. These are Earth Elementals, so they are immune to all Nature spells. My Insect Swarm, Entangling Roots and Wrath were useless, so I was forced to spam Starfire/Moonfire. On top of that, it took me at least 2 hours to get all 3 fragments. Blizz needs to do one(or both)of two things: Increase drop rate by a TON. Or make the Elementals NOT immune to Nature damage.

I cleared out the area and only got one fragment. Then after they respawned, I killed two mobs, and they both dropped fragments.

This is a hard solo for a 38 rogue. Doable but you'll be popping cooldowns, challenging for me and I am very experienced with playing rogues. Just a warning.
