Empty Stables

Locate an Alterac Ram in Alterac Valley. Use the Stormpike Training Collar when you are near the Alterac Ram to 'tame' the beast. Once tamed, the Alterac Ram will follow you back to the Stable Master. Speak with the Stable Master to earn credit for the capture.

Description

Just look at the stables, <name>! Empty! The Stormpike Brigade has no rams to ride - the cavalry is defunct.

You must help us, soldier. Take this training collar and enter the wilds of this valley. Locate the Alterac rams that roam throughout the area and use the collar to snare one. When you have captured a ram, return it to me and I shall place it in our stable.

When we have enough rams, the ram rider commander will be notifed. With your help, the cavalry will be reborn!

Progress

Without your help, the Stormpike Ram Riders would not have mounts to ride into battle. You do us a great service!

Completion

The stables will be full in no time at all. Keep up the good work!

Be aware that (unlike almost every other AV quest) this quest rewards no XP, even the first time you complete it.

Just post this here so everyone sees this.

Today it worked to tame a ram but only after doing this
  • Stand close to the ram
  • Turn off any damage on attack buffs (like spell=7294"">Retribution Aura)
  • Click the collar then WAIT. (so NO moving / casting / turning more then your field of view of the ram)
  • When you use it there will be hearts above both you and the ram and you WILL be attacked (the ram doesn't hit hard) and it will take some time for the taming to be complete. There will be NO casting/channeling bar however.
  • At a certain point the mount will become Friendly (not neutral) and you can go back to the stables.
You can mount up and ride ahead, when it gets back to far it will teleport to you.
