Description

A dark satyr called Lord Vyletongue spread his evil through these twisting caves, poisoning the minds of all inside. He still resides beyond the purple crystals.

Vyletongue also created a living symbol of his corruption called Noxxion that dwells beyond the orange crystals. Together, they have stolen the two parts of my brother's scepter. Celebras, my brother... he wanders blindly inside, cursed by corruption.

You must help him! Find the pieces, and speak to my brother... somehow.

I have awoken from a nightmare that seemed it would never end...

Completion

Now that you have recovered the two parts of my scepter, I have hope that Maraudon may one day be rid of the Vyle corruption.

The Celebrian Rod is found in the orange side of Mara and drops from Noxxian, a poison elemental 48 elite. The Celebrian Diamond drops from Lord Vyletongue in the purple side of Mara. Noxxion can hit fairly hard and spawns little adds during the fight. Vyletongue has two hidden demons that join the fight once it begins. When you've received both items, you need to defeat Celebras who is closer to the end of the purple side (near where you zone i if you have the scepter already). He spawns many adds but once you defeat him, speak to his ghost to complete the quest.

Sadly if you have entered the instance via the portal created by the scepter and your party wipes. You will have to ressurect at one of the orange or purple portals and come back to use the scepter.

Turn it in to Celebras the Redeemed, after killing Celebras the Cursed, inside Mauradon, right about where the orange and purple side meet.

well i completed it and it says to ""return to Celebras the Redeemed at Lordamere Lake in Silverpine Forest.""

ive done this quest before on other alts, so im a little confused as to if its a simple bug or if they changed it,
from looking around it seems to be a bug...hmmm

edit: well i got an awesome group that wanted to down him and turned it in inside Maraudon today so nothing was different just a little text bug i suppose

I just tried this quest, and when it's level-appropriate it's now pretty difficult. As mentioned, you have to get items from both the orange and purple wings of Maraudon, but Celebras the Cursed is in the Poison Falls, a no-man's land between both wings.

Being the tank, I figured it would be easy to lead the party the entire distance, going so far as to share the quest and explain my objectives to entice people to stay. The first group disbanded the moment they finished both wings. For the second group, I just zoned into the orange side, did the quest sharing/explanation thing, got them to continue through the Poison Falls (our hunter died twice in the poison clouds left by the dead slimes), and took out the final boss in the purple side by entering from the back way.

Then the healer zoned out, I urged the rest of them on with so little left to do, and went down the big waterfall in the poison section. If you stay in the water the elementals there are manageable as single pulls, compared to the slimes in groups of four on the dry ground. Celebras is to the left after jumping down the falls, on a small island with three non-elite trees. By the time we made it I felt like completing the quest warranted some kind of Feat of Strength achievement just for keeping the group together.

The quest text says to return it in Lordamere Lake in Silverpine Forest, which I guess it's wrong. Probably the Maraudon instance is located under or above the Silverpine instance.

Just to point out the bleeding obvious...

You need both bits of the sceptre to talk to him about it. If your just doing a loop around Mara, the first time you come across him your likely to only have one. You need to kill the other boss, get the second bit, then come back and he is way more chatty.

Dont bother trying to go after Celebras with a random group. 9 out of 10 groups will stop as soon as they get a satchel of goods off of Vyletongue. Very frustrating to spend time trying to convince people to help you go all the way to Celebras. I give up. This quest is for people who play wow with their friends.
