Capture a mine that the Stormpike does not control, then return to Sergeant Durgen Stormpike in the Alterac Mountains.

Mine Captured

Description

The mines in Alterac Valley hold more than just minerals. Both the Frostwolf and Stormpike have cached excess supplies in the Irondeep and Coldtooth mines... that's not a bad idea, if we could only maintain control of them!

Capture a mine, then return to me. To capture a mine, enter one that we do not control and kill its leader. When you do that, the mine will be ours, and we'll send troops to protect it!

Progress

You haven't captured the mine yet, <name>!

After we control a mine, it will be much easier to gather minerals and supplies from it.

Completion

You did it! Well done, <name>!

When we control a mine and have troops stationed there, it's much easier to gather minerals and supplies from it.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:

I dont Understand...I've killed ALL the Troggs two different times...the Mine is full of Alliance NPCs and it won't mark the quest fulfilled. Is this quest just bugged?

I have completed the Quest today.

I had the same issue. i would kill the mine boss and the Quest would not complete.

Then I went down to Coldtooth mine and the horde had taken it, killing the horde boss in the mine completed the quest.

Perhaps it is only when you kill the Opposing factions mine boss and not the neutral mine boss.

That quest description needs to be updated, it said one that we do not control and is not neutral in the game.

while this does count towards your total quests done, it does *not* count towards the EK loremaster achievement

One of several ""scaling"" quests which grants more exp as you level up, instead of less.

For example, most quests are red at one point, turn orange, yellow, green and then eventually gray as you outlevel it, and slowly decreasing the amount of exp you earn. This quest starts out yellow, and remains that color no matter what level you are. As such, it grants a gradually increasing amount of exp depending on what level you turn it in which is seemingly based on the amount of exp a ""typical"" yellow quest at that level would give.

8460 exp @ level 51 with the 20% heirloom exp bonus
8820 exp @ level 52
9120 exp @ level 53
