Description

Several years ago, a lone elven master named Kariel Winthalus fled the devastation of his homeland with several ancient elven artifacts in tow.

Our search for this lost master lead us from the ruins of Quel'Thalas, through the Burning Steppes, across the great expanses of the sea, to Feralas.

We suspect that the elf sought sanctuary in the halls of Eldre'Thalas (what is now known as Dire Maul).

You must find him, adventurer. Whether alive or dead, the knowledge he carried must be recovered!

Also, you get: 1 80

Progress

My associate, the night elf scholar, Runethorn, is recruiting her allies for this task.

Completion

A shame... a tragedy. The items are lost you say? No trace of him, eh?

The https://vanillawowdb.com/?object=179544 corpse can be found in the center of the Dire Maul library, which you can sneak into via the North entrance, by https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=14368 Lorekeeper Lydros.

Upon completing this quest, the next time you visit Lydros you will have access to his Libram quests:

Upon interacting with Master Winthalus's skeleton and following the dialogue bubble, https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=14368 Lorekeeper Lydros turns to you and says the following:<div class=""quote"">I very much doubt that he will have anything to say, stranger...

I personally didn't mind him. It was the Prince who took exception to a high elf in his domain. Alas, I am not one to question the Prince. In his defense, he did not incinerate Master Winthalus immediately.

We most definitely do not need any more attention drawn to us, stranger. Return to those that sent you in search of the lost master and tell them that nothing could be found. When this is done - and I will know when it is so - return and I shall reveal the secrets of the deceased.When you return to Lydros, he will offer the Libram quests. These repeatable quests and the one-time class book turn-ins are the only way to complete the long, lonely grind to exalted with Shen'dralar.

This quest would open the chances for you to deliver in books for Shen'dralar reputation which is required for https://vanillawowdb.com/?achievement=2336 https://vanillawowdb.com/?achievement=2336 achievement.
It requires Exhalted with the Shen'dralar.
