Description

To create the Thunderhorn Cleansing Totem, you must gather the claws of the predators of the Mulgore plains. Hunt prairie stalkers for their stalker claws and flatland cougars for their cougar claws, then return to me.

You will find the prairie stalkers and flatland cougars to the east and west.

The drop rate on the claws is incredibly low. Expect to gain a level or 2 from this if its in yellow.

Edit: I WAS hunting the right beasts.

by the way . they are closer down south good spot for them is 57, 44 area --- Good drop rate..

36, 34 and 40, 49 are the best for the Flatland Cougar's ( https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=3035 https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=3035 ) and the Prairie Stalker's ( https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=2959 https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=2959 ) are generally all around. I found that after you get one you get about 4 more then have to wait a bit, whichever mob it is out of the two. Not the easiest quest, but a nice amount of xp from the semi-grinding. Drop rate was very poor, but not ridiculously bad. You will be grinding for awhile though.

The drop rate of the lvl 5-6 Stalkers and Cougars is indeed very low, but the drop rate of the lvl 7-8 Cougars and Stalkers is not that bad. You can find those in the Golden Plains and near the Ravaged Caravan amongst others.

Please, Blizz. Please stop declawing the cougars. It's cruel. And also some people might need them for the starting quest you decided you'd require them for :(

/cries I've got 5/6 cougar claws and have leveled twice trying to get the sixth. -_-

I did this quest and had 6/6 cougar claws and 5/6 stalker claws i was looking for a cougar for about 5 minutes, found one, killed it and looked and it said ""Cougar Claws:6/6"" i then proceeded to find a wolf found one in 1 minute killed it and got the claw.The Ironic thing was while looking for the WRONG type of mob i found SEVERAL Wolves, ignoring them because i thought that i had all of their claws. Note of this: Pay attention to the Quest Log!
