Those that are ""collectors"" like me and are going for revered or even exalted with the Brotherhood, if you can get your hands on a fairly cheap Ingot, completing this quest gives you 1000 reputation. So it would be advisable to complete it before you reach the reputation status youre aiming for, especially as this pattern can still sell very well, usually higher or at least same price as the Ingot. Mind as well that you can complete this quest with at least as low as honored rep, thats when I did it, though it probably doesnt matter at all. No need to buy 2 or more Ingots though as you get the pattern via a ""This Item Begins a Quest"" item, therefore you only can complete it once.

Lohktos will engage in the dialogue resulting in receiving the Binding Contract quest starter even if you do not meet the level requirements for the quest, so long as the Ingot is in your inventory.

You may destroy the quest starter and receive another one if you so desire.

When you speak with Lokhtos, he basically says
""OMG, a Sulfuron Ingot!
We need those, like really bad. Here, I'll give you this awesome blacksmithing pattern for it, yeah?
""
... Of course, that'll make you keep the next 8 ingots to yourself instead of turning them into the Thorium Brotherhood.
o_o

===========
Edit: I turned this in on an alt and copied down all of the conversation, including the lead-up:
===========<div class=""quote"">A Sulfuron ingot? Impossible! I must have it! I must! I must!

<Race>, I am authorized to make you a grand deal for that ingot. Perhaps you would be interested to know the secrets of the Hand of Ragnaros? Sulfuras, idiot! The llegendary hammer of the Firelord.
Hrm, I'm listening. What is this offer?<div class=""quote"">In exchange for one Sulfuron Ingot, I am authorized to grand you one copy of the plans to forge a sulfuron hammer.

Now an adventurer like yourself is probably thinking to himself, ""What would I ever ned a hammer like that for when what I already own is far superior?""

Well let me tell you something, mister, there ain't nothing more superior than what the Sulfuron hammer can become!
You've got my attention.<div class=""quote"">You see, all you gotta do is forge the Sulfuron hammer and find yourself the eye of sulfuras, Combine the Eye of Sulfuras with the Sulfuron hammer and it will become sulfuras! Now I'm not going to bog you down with any technical information as to where or how or when you can get an Eye of Sulfuras. I'm sure you'll figure that stuff out. Just sign this here contract so that our agreement is binding and our business will be done.Give me the contract.

<Dialogue ends. Lokhtos uses an anti-magic-shield-like graphic, points at you, and the ground quakes for about 5 seconds. You receive item: https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=18628 [Thorium Bortherhood Contract]>

(You can also read the rest of the dialogue by following the quest links from that item.)<div class=""quote"">The undersigned hereby declares that the Sufuron ingot they are delivering to the Thorium Brotherhood (TB Ltd.) is genuine and not a facsimile thereof. The undersigned also acknowledges that any harm that should come to him as a result of attempting to build, forge, find create, sell, or eat Sulfuras, is not the responsibility or fault of TB Ltd.

By signing this contract, you are agreeing to all terms listed herein.

As a human at Neutral rep, I gained a whopping 4400 rep from this turn-in. Looks like it got quadrupled, too.

If you are looking for a way to get exalted with the brotherhood don't use this quest. Instead just go buy yourself some https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=17011"">(Item #17011) or https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=17010"">(Item #17010). Each of these gets 2000 rep per turn in, in the Grim Guzzler, on my server both these items typically only run about 70s - 1g now. If you are just starting from neutral, and are not a human, you will need 21, if you are human you only need 20.

You can do this quest only once. And you need to have an sulfuron ingot in your inventory(not in your bank) to start this quest. It gives 4000 rep with Thorium Brotherhood. And if you have Direbrew's Remote from Brewfest event,it's more easier to get this npc

I just picked up https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=18628"" class=""qundefined icontiny"" style=""background-image: url(images/icons/tiny/inv_scroll_05.gif)"">Thorium Brotherhood Contract from Lokhtos Darkbargainer. You need to go through his dialogue starting with ""Hrm, I'm listening. What is this offer?""

Once you receive the quest item, you can accept and turn in the quest right then and there. As others mentioned before, you need to have a https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=17203"" class=""qundefined icontiny"" style=""background-image: url(images/icons/tiny/spell_fire_sealoffire.gif)"">Sulfuron Ingot in your inventory. It is required to turn in the quest, so if you plan on making the Hammer, you will need a total of 9 x Ingots (8 for recipe, 1 for quest completion).

You can still get the quest from Lokhtos Darkbargainer (as of 5.3) however, the quest will only show up if you possess a Sulfuron Ingot in your inventory.
