An Ambassador of Evil

Kill Ambassador Infernus in Angor Fortress and bring proof of his death to Advisor Belgrum in Ironforge.
Ambassador Infernus' Bracer

Description

Ambassador Infernus was sent to Angor Fortress by Ragnaros himself to mind the Shadowforge seeking lost artifacts in Uldaman.

It has already meant tremendous casualties for our people, but it has obviously grown worse. I hesitate to guess how many artifacts they would be able to find and use against Ironforge.

Our goal is simple, <class>. Return to the Badlands and destroy Ambassador Infernus. Once the threat is eliminated, return to Advisor Belgrum with proof of your victory.

It is in your hands now.

Reward

You will receive:
Dwarf Captain's Sword
Also, you get: 1 25

Progress

Time is of the essence, <name>. Ragnaros will not wait for us to prepare.

Completion

<name>, your dedication to Ironforge and to the dwarven people cannot be refuted. I thank you for your help in this matter.

I shall send word to Historian Karnik informing him that you have succeeded, and I shall also have aid sent to the Badlands as soon as possible to help recover the excavation site. Thank you again.

Before you go, there is one more thing I would ask of you in the name of King Bronzebeard.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 465 experience (27 90 at max. level)
  • 350 Reputation with Ironforge

Entrance to the fortress is around 46,35. Mobs in and around the fortress are non elite 38's and 39's. Infernus was a 42 elite. Head into the fortress and stick to the right. Go down the stairs and he's at the bottom. Be careful not to pull too much aggro as there is little room to work with.

This guy is still a pain if you happen to be a fire mage. Immune to all your big spells and puts a debuff on you that keeps you from casting. Bring a melee/ranged dps friend along and he'll be a pushover.

At the end of the Fortress is Infernus' room. There is a Stone Golem standing near him, but it can and should be pulled alone.

While certainly soloable, don't take this guy lightly. He still has ~4k HP, and probably can't be taken by most classes without some kind of healing. He has a Fire Shield that can make quick work of dual wielding classes, and he applies a DoT with the spell he casts, so be sure to interrupt it if you plan to CC+Bandage.

Level 42 Fire Elemental at bottom floor of Angor Fortress.
I'm dissapointed that this quest isn't marked as a Group quest.
As stated above, bring heals, or he can't be beaten.
I had a bit of trouble fighting him on my 44 Holy Paladin, although that is probably because one of the mobs ran down and aggroed the Golem AND Infernus.

Soloed easily as a 40 ret pally. Used fire resistance aura, then autoattacks/seal and judgements. I used holy light once, no bubble or LoH. Didn't bother using HoJ/repent to get extra damage from judgements, or to not have to worry about spell pushback when I healed. He went down fast.

I just soloed this with my level 45 fire mage. The fact that he is immune to fire spells made this quest, from what it seemed to be easy, more difficult, however, frost nova and cone of cold helps keeping him at bay while you use arcane missles on him (unfortunately, since he is immune to all my fire spells, he does not gain the dazed effect from Blast Wave).
The golem that is right next to him can be pulled without aggroing the elite himself, so clear out the room before engaging him in combat.
Also, if you're a caster, silence/counterspell his Searing Flames spell, as not only will it deal damage, it will also silence you, and watch out for any Chanter dwarves that might spawn... they can put you to sleep and ruin the whole thing.

Solo'ed this as a level 37 rogue...i had a few twink like items but greens otherwise. Gotta have all your cooldowns up, watching to Kick, etc, but doable.

I'm a level 38 pally and this was difficult but doable with the right skill. He was orange and elite so i suggest anyone sketchy about doing this should level before trying it,he also casts a silencing spell so it was difficult just to heal. I used seal of light and Judgment of light and when he was half I used Lay on Hands and finished him off. Just getting in the place is tough and without hands of reckoning Id have pulled to many. I'm gonna suggest going in through the right as there are more mobs on the right. BTW i found the place at [46.00.35.00].

You may also have to take on multiple at a time so watch yourself.

I soloed this with my lv41destruction lock and voidwalker. I'll be honest I died once but that isn't such a bad thing.
If you die, or for that matter even if you don't, drop down behind the stone golum and take him out, it shouldn't aggro Infernus.

I just set my void on Infernus afterwards, cast Curse of Agony, Corruption and constantly fired shadowbolts untill he dropped.

Easier (apart from dying) than I thought it would be.

I soloed with my level 45 shadow priest, and after reading all those comments, it was easier than I thought it would be. I had more troubles with the level 38/39 mobs coming in groups of three to attack me, then with the Ambassador elite. Just make sure you killed the two mobs in the room before starting to kill the elite. I buffed up myself (Inner Fire, Fortitude) and basicly started massive DPS with a Power Word Shield whenever I could. Got silenced at the end of the fight, but my Shadow Word Pain finished the job. Got like half of health left. Pretty easy.

Turn in guy is in the Hall of Explorers in Ironforge.

Solod this mob with my level 80 frostmage. Cloth armor and no weapons, just used him as a punching bag and got my Unarmed skill up to 400, and got the ""'Did Somebody Order a Knuckle Sandwich?"" achievement. Doing 4 or 5 damage a hit and critting at 9 damage, it took 19 mins to get his 4000hp down to zero, so bring a sandwich and something to read while you do this (so exciting that I took a bio break in the middle of combat). Occasionally threw up a shield but barely got a dent in my health. Strangely, every so often combat would disengage and I'd have to right-click on him again.
