Turn in to https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=14368 Lorekeeper Lydros in the library section of the west wing of Dire Maul. He's on the other side of the wall from https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=11486 Prince Tortheldrin. You'll need the https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=18249 Crescent Key to get to him.

For some odd reason, Blizzard's built in quest helper shows the turn-in as right next to Dalaran Crater. Don't let that fool you and waste your time running up there like i did -_-. As it has been mentioned, the guy is indeed inside the Dire Maul library.

I had the quest on my pally still from 3.3.5 and just turned it in to the guy. You can't take the shortcut via DM North to get there. The door in DM North doesn't work. Only way to turn in the pattern is to go all the way around and through DM West. Odd how you can still get 500 Shen'dralar rep from this quest.
