I believe the only real purpose of completing this would be to get the items he drops? Can anyone confirm? I mean he only drops 4 or 5 good items as far as I know.

after a paladin completes their epic mount quest, the event can be used as an optional boss.

Make sure when you go depending on your level you have a good healer. I went for my pallie epic quest, if you die after you set the divination scryer the gates to the basement room lock as well as the room above and you have to begin again. Have the person JUST heal, because the Death Knight will caste a spell that makes you attack your own teammates.

Again, I'm only a 62, I brought a 70 holy pallie and we were able to get to the final boss(death knight), then we got wiped out.
