Description

I have a lead on an even BETTER source of hides, if that's even possible to believe! In the northern parts of Feralas - deep within Rage Scar Hold - are another throng of yetis. They're much tougher than the ones you dealt with before, so if you're up for a bigger challenge you'd best be on your toes!

I would reward you handsomely for a stack of ten of their hides; bring them to me here, and we'll finish our business.

If these Rage Scar yeti hides are anything like the quality displayed by their Feral Scar counterparts, they could very well be as resilient as thorium!

The path leading to the Rage Scar Yetis can be hard to find. At least I wasted a couple important minutes on my Dragonslayer buff trying to find it. ;-)

You'll find a hidden path leading to the cave at 51, 32. The droprate for the skins is horrible - I had to clear the cave twice to get them all.

As an added bonus tho, a Perfect Yeti Skin is bound to drop while collecting the regular ones. It starts a simple turn-in quest for some easy xp at the same guy who sent you here in the first place.

Like the previous quest in the chain, the hides are now obtainable from both skinning and killing, effectively doubling the drop rate for skinners.

It took me 35 yeti kills (all rage scar) to get my 10 hides. The perfect hide dropped twice in that time.

I had no problem with this quest. Honestly I didn't even go into the cave. The respawn rate was so quick I killed em and got my hides quite fast. I did this quest at lvl 45.

The cave isn't hard to find as you may think either. Follow the road until you are directly South of the Twins and head right. You'll find the Yeti up a hill - The Yeti range from lvls 46-49 from what I saw.

I believe the drop rate change since i do it like 6 month before now its almost a 100% drop i believe its a 80%

this quest is pretty easy if your a skinner.. double your chances of drops. i did this quest as a lvl 47 hunter, path to cave is at 51,32 but i didn't need to enter the cave. got all 10 hides from outside:D

2.3: Just did it with my 50 druid, got the hides in about 25 kills. So maybe they boosted the drop%.

Ok I got all my hides in about 15 kills, but kept killing in hopes of getting the perfect hide. 72 kills later and still nada.

Lots of people here are saying the drop rate is good, and well, I can't agree :P

I cleared the outside, cleared the cave and the outside again, and was still lacking 2-3 hides despite being a skinner. Was just one of those days I guess. But anyways, nowhere near 80% drop rate.

The best part of Skinning is completing this quest at level 43 by stalking a Paladin and skinning his kills.

Counts towards the Loremaster of Kalimdor achievement. However, the quest you can get from the Perfect Yeti Hide (https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=18972 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=18972) that can drop from the mobs involved in this quest this quest does NOT count. It counts towards The Seeker (3000 quests completed) achievement though.

i cant find the cave still....ran into some lvl 60 dragonspawn mobs tho guessing elite cause they 1shotted me and im lvl 52. what is the addon that lets u see coords?

The three https://vanillawowdb.com/?npc=7848 Lurking Feral Scars that spawn for the quest https://vanillawowdb.com/?quest=2767 Rescue OOX-2/FE! drop the https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=8973 skins needed for the last quest, BUT, if you're a skinner, have what seemed to be a near 100% chance to drop https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=18947 the skin you need for this quest. It might not be 100%, but all three skinned the quest item for me.
