Dark Vessels

Primal Torntusk at Revantusk Village in the Hinterlands wants you to recover 10 Vessels of Tainted Blood from Jintha'alor. Return to Primal Torntusk when this task is complete.

Description

The Vilebranch fight with supernatural ferocity. This is due to the foul magical weavings of the Vile Priestess Hexx.

Throughout Jintha'alor you will find dark vessels of tainted blood. The vessels radiate the foul magic of the faceless blood God, empowering the Vilebranch and also driving them to madness.

Steal those vessels and return them to me so that I may remove the taint and ultimately loosen the grip of the blood God.

Progress

Be cautious in battling the Vilebranch, <name>. Their minds are clouded - they fight to the death.

Completion

The dark energy that compels the Vilebranch has been lifted - for now. We must remain ever vigilant in our battle against evil, as even if the Vile Priestess is destroyed, another soon takes her place.

Gains

Upon completion of quests, get:
  • 590 experience (35 40 at max. level)

To be a bit more precise, look all around the upper levels of Jintha'alor. The screenshot provided will show you exactly what you are looking for. Don't worry if you have a large group and all have the quest either. There are more than enough ""Vessels of Tainted Blood"" to go around.

The mobs in Jintha'Alor are no longer elite as of patch 2.3, so this quest can be solo-able. The quest also gives 8500 XP if you complete it.

It's also worth noting that these do not ""glitter"" like most lootable objects do now (herbs, quest items). I completely missed them the first time because I only look for the sparkle now, classic crutch eh.

They're spread all over the floors, becoming more common on the upper ones. Just team this up with the various kill x type Vilebranch quests and you'll get all of them eventually, no need to really go looking for them. They're often found in the middle of camps of 2+ mobs. Again look for what's on the screenshot, because as of patch 3.0.8 they still don't have the normal quest item glitter.

it is not the beasts u have to kill, search the cooking pots near certain beast throughout the area

As of 3.2, you only need 5 vessels, previously it was 10. Doesn't make this quest any less annoying, though, they have a really long respawn timer or, I assume, there are only a certain number of vessels up for all the possible spawn points, so you have to ride around and look for them.

french translation sucks... they translated vessel into ""calice"" (french for ""chalice"")...
let just say that those pots look nothing like chalices, which would leave anyone looking for ""chalices"" quite puzzled ^^

Look for small pots over a small fire at the tents and camps.

If you're going up to the top for the other quests then head east after Vile Priestess Hexx and you'll find a ton of them.

For those who still think these things drop off of trolls, take a look at the photo of above to know what they look like. Steaming cauldrons of green goo. In other words, the trolls are having BBQs and you'll find these on the ground in the encampments on the upper levels. Very easy quest if you know what to look for.

Just tried to do this quest today, couldnt find any vessels and came here to find ""This quest was marked obsolete by Blizzard and cannot be obtained or completed."". I guess this would explain it but I was able to obtain it today but abandoned it after 20 minutes of vessel searching *sigh*.

best thing to do would be to go to 66.6/80.3 then just pan around. theres more than 5 of the vessels on the ground.

I noticed that this quest has the notation obsolete &amp; that it cannot be obtained or completed. I did obtain it and complete it, the pots are on the upper level, they are small, but they do sparkle! Just an update! :)

I had similar problems, however they all seem to be on the top level where the Blood Drinkers are - humm no surprise there lol, hope this helps someone :)

I had to see if I could start and complete this quest. It is doable. The Sandrene's Invisable Vest is worth the quest. It's Leather. Dark Vessels are small pots. Dark Vessels is second quest to All that skitters.

This is still doable in 5.3, look for little black cauldrons on the ground on the upper tier. They tend to be bunched together by the shrines.
