Honoring a Hero

Travel to Grom's Monument in the Demon Fall Canyon of Ashenvale and use Grom's Tribute at the base of the monument. Return to Javnir Nashak outside Orgrimmar before the Harvest Festival is over.
Provided Item:
Grom's Tribute

Description

During the Harvest Festival of Azeroth, we give thanks to heroes for the sacrifices - in some cases ultimate sacrifices - they have given on our behalf. The Horde acknowledges many heroes, but none exemplify strength and sacrifice more than Grom Hellscream.

Help us honor Grom by taking this offering to his monument in the Demon Fall Canyon of Ashenvale. Place it at the base, and then return to me. I'll only be here through the end of the festival, so waste no time in giving Grom his tribute.

Reward

You will receive:
The Horde's Hellscream

Progress

Have you made the journey to Grom's Monument and placed his tribute there?

The site where the monument is still touched by the taint of the Burning Legion. Should you be less experienced in the ways of adventuring, be on your toes when approaching the monument.

Completion

Grom's full name - Grommash - means "The Giant's Heart"; it took that and more to stand alone against Mannoroth. I think the Warchief said it best when the curse of the orcs began and ended with Grom. Fitting that Grom's sacrifice - and perhaps redemption - would be the wellspring from which the Horde flows today.

Thank you, <name>. You've paid tribute to a great hero today, honoring his spirit and the spirit of the Harvest Festival.

At this time this particular quest will be attainable but uncompletable by both Blood Elf and Draenei. The quest has not yet been updated by Blizzard to include the new races. According to a GM this is a known issue and will hopefully be resolved soon.

I believe reason why should lvl 70's (and 80's in wotlk) do this quest is simple they gain 500 rep with each of capital cities and that's notable amount.

As more people go to honor the monument, more and more candles, totems, and bottles begin to spawn, one for each player to complete the quest.

Forsaken spawn black candles with green flames, Orcs and Trolls spawn bottles, Tauren spawn totems, and Blood Elves spawn candles... If I'm not mistaken.

This holiday really doesn't correspond to Thanksgiving. It is almost identical to a Korean holiday called ""Chusok"" where Koreans go to their ancestors' graves and honor them with food. Every year, it has fallen at the same time as Chusok and this year again, it falls at the same time.

WoW has a lot of Korean items in it such as ""Dokebi"" items (dokebi is a korean mythical creature) https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=14582 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=14582, Hanbok (a traditional korean dress) https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=13896 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=13896, and obvious ones like Kimchi https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=21033 https://vanillawowdb.com/?item=21033

You can also buy some kickass fireworks from the questgiver! :)

Full poem:<div class=""quote"">His name will not die.
His sacrifice will always serve to show the way.

Shackles once that choked the inhale of honor's breath no longer bind us

Can you hear his scream?
A battle wail for the Horde: Victory or death!

We must remember his strength in the face of death.
His dream, now made real.

Dangers everywhere!
Enemies seek to bring us back to the shackles.

When we fight, think of he who did what must be done.
Hellscream, forever!

If a seasonal event is deemed worthy of a week on the in-game calendar, it would be nice if there was more to it than a single quest and some cheap fireworks from one NPC. Unfulfilled potential, imho.

Worth 20750 experience at level 74 (septermber 09.) Also got the standard 500 rep. updated for wrath. Wish the text on the actual monument was kept in the quest reward though, l found it really interesting. Quite worth doing for multiple reasons imo.

I want this festival to be overhauled. Garrosh, as Grom's son should have atleast played bigger part in this festival, maybe visiting his fathers final resting place.

Did this this afternoon and it bugged on me. Used my tribute and it didn't complete the quest, couldn't abandon it to try again. Relogged and it completed the quest for me.
