This is incorrect, I caught this fish as a level 19 today, and I was fully capable of looting it and turning it in for a Lucky Fishing Hat.

I've noticed that Keefer's Angelfish and Brownell's Blue Striped Racer Fish have had a more likely amount to drop during the final few minutes of the contest. I encourage everyone to keep on fishing to the final minute because of the common occurence.

Yes.. Thats the only way to get it to fishing the fish ;)

I was wondering if this quest would give Experience as a reward as well, because I have a level 19 hunter twink who is almost level 20 and I obviously dont want him to level, so does this quest give experience, and if so, how much?

In order to catch the Keefer's Angelfish, do I need to be on the quest, or will it drop regardless?
What lvl fishing do you need because I heard you could be lvl one... you'll just get a lot of trash though :P hehe
Also, can I only get Keefer's Angelfish between 2pm-4pm Sundays at Stranglethorn Vale?
And Keefer's Angelfish doesn't expire, correct?... but Fishbot 5000 is only there on Sundays (all day), so that's the only time I can turn it in...
I am just making sure I have everything straight and nothing has changed :) I really want to get my sister this fishing hat ^_^ thanks!

I just got my Lucky Fishing Hat today! :D on my lvl 16 Orc hunter! Fishing Skill at 44 with NO bait!

I started fishing at 2pm on Sunday when the Stranglethorn Vale Fishing Extravaganza starts. I got a lot of Speckled Tasty fish :P but couldn't catch Keefer's Angelfish.
Within 15 minutes at 2:15pm, someone had won the tournament (40 Speckled Tastyfish), but the ""School of Tasty Fish"" stay up until 4pm (when the tournament ends)!

At the last 6 minutes of the tournament, at 3:54pm I found Keefer's Angelfish! :D so do NOT give up! :D keep fishing until the last minute! :D
The Angelfish has no time limit to turn in; so once you catch it, you have all the time in the world to turn it in to Fishbot5000 (but i heard that Fishbot5000 is only at BootyBay on Sundays during the competition until 5pm. If you miss it though, you can always turn it in next Sunday for the Hat).

I went to the Yojamba Island far north off the Stranglethron Vale coast... and there were only 4 ""Schools of Tasty Fish"" that spawned :( I waited alone by one spawn point for over 30 minutes, and it NEVER RESPAWNED! So I do not advise that anyone goes to Yojumba Island or waits in the same spot... =( the Alliance lvl 80's knew that the lowbie Horde players were over there and would just gank them... Yojamba Island is safe from high lvl mobs but not players! lol

Most of the mobs around Stranglethorn Vale are lvl 40+.... so I died about 20 times to Crocodiles. hehehe but somehow I got Keefer's Angelfish in the last 6 minutes of the tournament! :D it might have just been luck but.... maybe more spawn at the end? ;D

Just got one on my lvl 9 orc lock with only 25 or so fishing... so its possible to get it on any character.. and you cant catch trash from nodes anymore so that might of helped

Going on week #5, over 500 tastyfish. All I've gotten so far is one rare for the fishing line with +5 fishing. (fishing in wow is less exciting than watching paint dry)

The contest (and the pools you can fish Keefer's out of) runs from 2-4PM every Sunday, and the bot that you turn these into is only there all day Sunday.What time zone is this in?

I spent 2 full hours fishing for this fish with about 450 fishing, and a +75 fishing bobber, and haven't caught a single Keefer's Angelfish. Also it is worthy to note that there was quite a few 85s (about 3 or 5) in the area around Yojamba Isle, where there is no mobs. Also, I was there for the first 5 minutes of the fishing contest waiting for a tastyfish school to spawn but not a single one did, so I fished on the coast of Northern Stranglethorn, easily killing the 23-26 mobs. I have caught around 180 speckled tastyfish as well, I am not sure if this was not a lot a fish, or not, because my bobber kept missing the school's in where the Tastyfish could be caught. Overall, this fish is definitely harder to catch than Old Crafty of Orgrimmar and Old Ironjaw of Ironforge. Good luck to all of you who try to get this lovely hat.

Finally got my Angel Fish, it took about 5 fishing tourneys of non-stop fishing, as well as 3 Striped racers and a Queenfish before it finally showed up.

I always fished up and down the west coast of north stranglethorn because I'm only lv 20.
Then today about an hour in I decided to have a go on the east coast where the bloodsails are. Found the Angelfish in the second pool I came across, it was actually some wreckage just round the cape (Bloodsail maybe).
Might just be a coincidence, but I must have fished about 400 tastyfish on the other side and got nothing, yet I swapped to the east coast and found it almost instantly. :/
